Sales Data Analysis & Market Research Report

Job Description: We're a small private consumer goods company. We have several months of raw weekly sales data sitting in Excel that hasn't been properly analyzed, and we'd like a one time deep dive before deciding whether to bring someone on for ongoing reporting. We need someone to: 1. Clean and organize our existing sales data (6 months, weekly entries). Fix inconsistencies and flag anomalies or unusual patterns. 2. Build a simple Excel or Power BI report showing sales trends, top performing products, and any red flags worth our attention. 3. Carry out a short market research summary on 3 to 4 key competitors: pricing, product positioning, and anything relevant to our category. 4. Deliver a short written summary (1 to 2 pages) with key findings and recommendations in plain language. This is a one time project. If the work is good, we may follow up about ongoing hourly reporting, but there's no obligation either way. What we'll provide: Raw sales spreadsheet, basic info on our product categories and main competitors, and availability for a short call to clarify anything. What we're looking for: * Comfortable working with raw, messy Excel data * Can spot trends and anomalies, not just enter numbers * Basic market research skills, comfortable searching and synthesizing competitor info * Clear, concise written communicator.
