Summary

Sales & Business Development Manager (BDM) | High-Ticket Wellness Products Location: Remote — must work within New Zealand business hours Employment Type: Part-time initially, with a pathway toward full-time Compensation: Hourly to start About HealthHQ HealthHQ is a fast-growing New Zealand wellness company specialising in premium saunas, ice baths, chillers, and complete home and commercial recovery setups. We help homeowners, gyms, wellness businesses, builders, and commercial clients create high-quality recovery spaces. Our products are considered purchases with meaningful order values, so our sales process is consultative, relationship-led, and focused on genuinely helping customers choose the right solution. The Role We are looking for a capable, commercially minded Sales & Business Development Manager who can both close high-value inbound opportunities and create new revenue channels. You will take ownership of the sales journey from first enquiry through to deposit, while also identifying partnerships, commercial opportunities, and proactive outbound opportunities that can help HealthHQ grow. You need to be both a strong closer and a builder: someone who can convert warm leads while also creating new business opportunities independently. Key Responsibilities Sales and Revenue Generation • Respond promptly to inbound enquiries from website forms, phone calls, email, social media, and referrals. • Conduct high-quality discovery calls to understand each customer’s goals, space, budget, timeline, and intended use. • Educate customers on our products, including traditional saunas, infrared saunas, ice baths, chillers, accessories, delivery, assembly, and electrical requirements. • Recommend the right package for the customer rather than using a generic or pushy sales approach. • Prepare accurate, tailored quotes and proposals. • Maintain a disciplined follow-up cadence through calls, emails, messages, and scheduled touchpoints. • Handle objections professionally, build trust, and confidently ask for the sale. • Secure deposits and hand confirmed orders over clearly to the Customer Success team. • Keep all lead notes, next actions, pipeline stages, and sales activity accurately updated in Pipedrive. • Identify opportunities for upgrades, bundles, add-ons, and higher-value recovery packages. • Support Conway and the wider sales team with complex, custom, high-value, commercial, or technical opportunities. Business Development and Growth • Identify and build strategic partnerships with builders, architects, landscapers, designers, gyms, wellness facilities, accommodation providers, developers, and other relevant businesses. • Develop and execute proactive outbound strategies to generate qualified opportunities. • Build relationships with commercial clients and larger-scale buyers. • Identify potential new markets, customer segments, products, partnerships, and revenue channels. • Research competitors, market positioning, pricing, and emerging opportunities in the premium wellness space. • Share commercial insights and recommendations that can improve pricing, positioning, product packages, conversion rates, and sales processes. • Help establish repeatable partnership and outbound-sales systems as the business grows. What Success Looks Like You will be measured on outcomes, not just activity. Key success measures will include: • Fast response times to new enquiries. • High-quality discovery calls and lead qualification. • Strong follow-up consistency and low lead leakage. • Quote-to-deposit conversion rate. • Revenue generated and deposits secured. • Average order value and successful package upgrades. • Growth in qualified partnership and commercial opportunities. • Accurate CRM data, pipeline management, and next actions. • Positive customer feedback on the sales experience. • Clear contribution to new revenue channels and market growth. Essential Requirements • Proven experience in both sales and business development. • Strong track record in high-ticket, consultative, or relationship-led sales. • Experience taking sales calls, qualifying leads, preparing quotes, following up, and closing deals. • Demonstrated ability to generate your own pipeline, partnerships, or outbound opportunities, not only convert inbound leads. • Clear, professional spoken and written English, with a confident and natural phone manner. • Strong commercial judgement and understanding of sales funnels, conversion, pricing, and customer decision-making. • Highly organised, proactive, self-directed, and results-focused. • Comfortable using CRM systems such as Pipedrive or similar platforms. • Able to work consistently within New Zealand business hours, 9:00am–5:00pm NZ time. • Comfortable working in a fast-moving business where you are expected to take ownership and improve systems over time. Preferred Experience Experience in one or more of the following will be an advantage: • Premium wellness, fitness, recovery, health, lifestyle, home improvement, furniture, construction, or outdoor-living products. • Selling to both residential and commercial customers. • Partnership development with builders, architects, gyms, developers, or hospitality businesses. • Shopify, Pipedrive, Google Workspace, quoting systems, or e-commerce platforms. • Working directly with a founder or within a growing small business. • Building sales processes, outbound systems, or new business channels from the ground up. Availability and Growth Opportunity • This role will begin on a part-time basis. • There is genuine potential for the position to grow toward full-time as performance, capability, trust, and business needs develop. • Compensation will include an hourly base, with commission and performance-based incentives linked to sales outcomes. • We are looking for a long-term team member who wants to take on increasing responsibility and play a meaningful role in HealthHQ’s growth. Who This Role Suits This role is suited to someone who: • Is both a closer and a builder. • Enjoys selling high-value products through education, trust, and consistent follow-up. • Does not wait for leads to make the next move. • Can balance immediate revenue targets with longer-term partnership and market-development work. • Is commercially curious and brings ideas, not just task completion. • Wants meaningful ownership in a growing premium brand. Application Requirements Please include the following in your application: 1. A short overview of your sales and business-development experience. 2. Examples of high-ticket products or services you have sold, including typical order values where possible. 3. An example of a partnership, outbound campaign, or opportunity you personally originated. 4. A recent example of a deal you originated and closed, including your role in the process. 5. The CRM, quoting, sales, and communication systems you have used. 6. Your availability during New Zealand business hours. 7. Please attach a MP3 voice recording with your application of you speaking Applications without an MP3 recording will not be considered. Thank you 😊
