Sample work Editor & Proofreader for Medical/Alternative Health Book (Fascia vs. TCM Meridians)
Worldwide
Job Description: I am looking for a skilled developmental editor and proofreader to refine the structure, flow, clarity, and word choice of my upcoming book manuscript. It is written for an audience of modern clinicians, physical therapists, acupuncturists, and bodyworkers. Scope of Work: Structural & Line Editing: Review the flow of ideas, ensure smooth transitions between scientific and energetic concepts, and improve sentence-level readability without losing the clinical yet engaging tone. * Word Choice & Clarity: Help make complex concepts (like piezoelectricity, thixotropy, and Chinese character imagery) highly digestible for healthcare professionals. * Terminology Verification: Ensure consistency in the text's formatting of Western anatomical terminology (e.g., Anatomy Trains references) and TCM pinyin terms (e.g., Xue, Hegu, Zusanli). Proofreading: Catch grammar, punctuation, and typos before the layout stage. The Ideal Freelancer:Proven experience editing non-fiction, medical, or alternative health/wellness textbooks. * Familiarity with modern biomechanics (Thomas Myers' Anatomy Trains framework is a massive plus!). * Basic understanding or familiarity with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) concepts and terminology. Excellent eye for structural flow and engaging prose. Project Length & Budget: Total page count: ard 120 pages Timeline: 3–4 weeks. Please provide your fixed-price quote or hourly rate along with a sample of similar work you have edited.
