I have a foundational concept and a raw sketch for a new sci-fi novel, and I am looking for a brilliant developmental editor, narrative designer, or sci-fi author to help me architect the universe before a single chapter is written. This is Phase 1 of a two-part project. You are being hired strictly for structural design, world-building logic, and plot engineering. If our collaboration clicks, you will be given top priority for the Phase 2 writing contract to execute the actual prose of the novel. The ideal partner for this project is someone who lives and understands sci-fi, understands narrative pacing, and loves patching plot holes and establishing rigorous world rules. The Project Flavor: Sub-genre: Sci-fi, Fantasy Role Play Tone/Inspirations: Contact, Dragonlance book series, Matrix, Total Recall, Gattaca The Starting Point: I have the core "What if?" premise, the technical/scientific boundaries, and the high-level emotional core. I need your creative brainpower to scale this up into a bulletproof narrative framework. Scope of Work & Deliverables: We will work together via Upwork messages/shared documents to deliver two specific items: The Sci-Fi Story Bible: A master document detailing the physical or technological rules of the world, faction/political dynamics, and core character profiles with distinct arcs. A Chapter-by-Chapter Plot Outline: A robust, comprehensive blueprint mapping out the narrative from the inciting incident to the climax, ensuring seamless pacing and logical continuity. Milestones & Payment Structure: This will be a fixed-price contract split into two milestones: Milestone 1 (50%): Brainstorming sessions and delivery of the finalized Sci-Fi Story Bible. Milestone 2 (50%): Delivery of the complete, chapter-by-chapter plot outline. CONFIDENTIALITY (NDA REQUIRED) Your creative IP matters, and mine does too. A signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is strictly required before any specific plot sketches, world details, or proprietary concepts are shared.
