Summary

We're seeking a Scotland travel expert and tourist guide with an authentic local background to create a high-quality Scotland travel guide in collaboration with our AI workflow. This is a unique opportunity to combine your deep knowledge of Scotland with cutting-edge AI technology to produce something truly exceptional. Who We're Looking For We need someone who truly knows Scotland from the inside out. You should have a strong Scotland background with extensive local experience, deep knowledge of the country's history, culture, regions, cities, coastline, Highlands, islands, and local traditions, along with those special insider tips and hidden gems that don't appear in standard tourist guides. Experience as a local tourist guide, travel advisor, or Scotland expert is essential. You should be familiar not only with the major highlights such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, the Isle of Skye, Loch Ness, the Highlands, or Stirling, but also with lesser-known towns, authentic local experiences, regional food culture, scenic routes, beaches, viewpoints, villages, festivals, and practical travel advice that only someone with real local knowledge can provide. Project Details Scope: 50-60 hours Compensation: $600 Profit share: 5% of the profits (a few hundred dollars a year for you, maybe $1,000+ a year if the book is a big success) The project unfolds in two phases: Phase 1: Outline Creation First, you'll create the outline. We believe this is the most critical part of the entire project. You'll develop the complete book structure, selecting destinations and attractions that include both unmissable highlights and genuine hidden gems that locals know about. You will plan chapters by region, city, and travel experience, for example Edinburgh and the Lothians, Glasgow and the West, the Highlands, the Cairngorms, the Isle of Skye and the Inner Hebrides, the Outer Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland, the Scottish Borders, Aberdeenshire and the Northeast, beaches and islands, road trips like the North Coast 500, food and whisky, culture, and practical travel routes. You will also define where maps should be placed and which areas require visual orientation for travelers. This outline is the foundation for everything that follows. We have two outlines from existing travel guides, Japan and Ireland, that you can use as a basic framework. Since Scotland is a country with vast and varied regions rather than a single city, the structure should be adapted accordingly, with a strong focus on regions, routes, and practical travel planning. Phase 2: AI Collaboration & Content Refinement In the second phase, you'll collaborate with our AI workflow for writing the book. The AI produces excellently written text quickly, but your role is vital: you'll add depth and details that AI doesn't know, fact-check all information, eliminate repetitions, and ensure an authentic local Scottish perspective throughout. Your expertise will help us make sure the guide feels genuinely useful, accurate, and locally informed, not generic or superficial. What We're Creating We want to create a compact, high-quality Scotland travel guide. Most high-quality travel guides have 400+ pages and are difficult to take with you on the go. Our travel guide will have approximately 180-200 pages and be ideal for active travel. There are some travel guides like this, but they often lack depth in terms of content, local insight, and visual appeal. Our goal is to create a truly high-quality guide that goes into depth, includes real insider tips, and offers travelers a unique experience of Scotland. The guide should help travelers discover both the famous highlights and the authentic side of the country, from historic cities and Highland villages to local restaurants, scenic viewpoints, cultural traditions, hidden beaches, whisky distilleries, and memorable day trips. Our Quality Philosophy We use AI to speed up the writing process, but we're absolutely not compromising on quality. The time we save with AI allows us to focus intensively on content depth and accuracy. We want deeper information through local expertise, hidden gems alongside famous attractions, and an authentic Scotland perspective throughout. AI is our tool for efficiency, but your knowledge ensures we never sacrifice quality. Author Credit We would appreciate being able to use your name as the author of the book. The book will be published under our travel guide brand, but mentioning an expert by name as the author is always a great advantage with the target audience. Therefore, you will receive the 5% profit share mentioned above. If you grew up in Scotland, have lived there for years, know the country like the back of your hand, and are ready to pour your knowledge into an exceptional travel guide, we would love to hear from you!
