Seeking Qualified Litigation & Human Rights Lawyer. Abuja, Nigeria (Ongoing Retainer) About This Role I am looking to engage a qualified, Nigeria-licensed lawyer based in Abuja on an ongoing retainer basis for personal legal matters. The ideal candidate has active courtroom experience, a solid grounding in human rights law, and comfort navigating government and regulatory affairs. Key Practice Areas Required • Civil and constitutional litigation • Human rights law (including familiarity with ECOWAS Court jurisdiction and NHRC processes) • Government affairs, regulatory compliance, and administrative law • Contract review and advisory • General legal research and written opinions **Qualifications** • LL.B from an accredited Nigerian or foreign university • Called to the Nigerian Bar (BL certificate required) • Minimum 3–5 years post-call experience, with demonstrable litigation experience • Active practice in Abuja (FCT) — familiarity with the Federal High Court, High Court of the FCT, and relevant tribunals is essential • Strong written and oral communication skills in English • Experience handling matters involving government bodies or public interest litigation is a strong advantage What I'm Looking For in a Candidate This is a retainer engagement, so I value reliability, clear communication, and someone who takes a proactive approach to advising rather than waiting to be asked.
