Mareign is a modern equestrian apparel startup seeking a talented clothing designer to help bring a fresh perspective to the industry. Our vision is to create timeless, sleek, stylish, and performance-driven equestrian apparel that balances functionality, comfort, and elevated design. As a founder launching my first apparel brand, I am looking for more than just a designer—I am looking for a creative partner who can help guide me through the design and development process. This is a beginner startup, and while I have a strong vision for the brand, I value the expertise of someone who is willing to share their knowledge, provide professional insight, and grow alongside the brand as it evolves. For the initial launch, I am looking to develop a focused collection on a smaller scale while establishing a strong foundation for future growth. A key part of Mareign's identity is celebrating cultural inspiration through thoughtful design. While traditional equestrian fashion has long been influenced by European and Western aesthetics, Mareign aims to broaden that perspective by incorporating Asian cultural influences in a refined, contemporary way. Our debut collection will draw inspiration from Filipino tribal elements, patterns, and heritage, reimagined through a modern luxury equestrian lens. Future collections may explore inspirations from other Asian cultures, including Japanese, Mongolian, Chinese, Korean, and others. However, Mareign is not an Asian-focused brand nor intended exclusively for an Asian audience. Our goal is to create universally appealing apparel that welcomes riders of all backgrounds while introducing new cultural influences and design narratives to the equestrian world. We are specifically seeking a designer who is familiar with contemporary Western and European equestrian fashion as well as Asian cultural aesthetics. The ideal candidate will have the creative ability to thoughtfully blend these influences into cohesive, wearable designs that feel authentic, sophisticated, and innovative. We are not looking for literal cultural reproductions, but rather modern interpretations that seamlessly integrate Asian-inspired details, motifs, textures, silhouettes, or storytelling into premium equestrian apparel. In addition to design expertise, I am looking for someone who is highly communicative, organized, efficient, and reliable. Strong communication and transparency throughout the design process are extremely important. The ideal designer should be able to meet agreed-upon timelines, provide regular updates, offer constructive feedback, and work collaboratively to bring ideas to life. I want someone who is excited to create with me, not simply design for me. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, a deep understanding of garment construction and performance fabrics, and a passion for pushing equestrian fashion beyond its traditional boundaries while maintaining elegance, functionality, and timeless appeal.
