Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager Needed for QuickBooks Online Cleanup, Month-End Close & Ongoing Accounting Support Project Type: Hourly Project Scope: Large (ongoing) Experience Level: Expert Estimated Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week Hourly Budget: $60–100/hour Project Description: We’re a growing U.S.-based company seeking an experienced Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accountant to strengthen our accounting function and become a long-term accounting partner. Our accounting processes are established, but we’re looking for someone who can help improve organization, maintain accurate financial records, support month-end close, and ensure we’re always prepared for year-end financial reporting and external audit activities. This is an ongoing engagement for someone who enjoys working with growing organizations and is comfortable taking ownership of accounting responsibilities while working independently. Although this engagement begins as a part-time independent contractor role, we’re interested in building a long-term relationship with the right professional. Scope of Work: Responsibilities will include a combination of ongoing accounting support and process improvement, including- • Review and maintain the accuracy of QuickBooks Online • Analyze and reclassify transactions when appropriate • Perform general ledger reviews and reconciliations • Prepare journal entries and month-end adjustments • Complete bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations • Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules • Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules • Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as needed • Prepare documentation and schedules for year-end financial reporting and external audit requests • Identify accounting process improvements and recommend best practices • Serve as a trusted accounting resource for company leadership Deliverables: Success in this role includes- • Accurate and well-maintained QuickBooks Online records • Timely and consistent month-end close • Reliable financial statements and supporting documentation • Audit-ready accounting records • Improved accounting processes and internal controls • Clear, proactive communication regarding priorities, issues, and recommendations Required Experience: We’re looking for someone who has- • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience • Experience as an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar role • Extensive QuickBooks Online experience • Strong understanding of GAAP • Experience owning or leading the month-end close process • Experience preparing financial statements • Strong reconciliation and general ledger experience • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills • Excellent written and verbal communication • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Experience supporting growing companies, manufacturing businesses, or other operational organizations is preferred.
