Senior Applied Computer Vision & iOS Engineer

We’re building RunFast, a one-phone sprint analysis and coaching product that turns real-world video into clear, evidence-aware feedback for athletes. We’re partnering with one of Australia’s leading sprint coaches to make genuinely useful sprint expertise accessible from an athlete’s phone. We’re looking for a senior engineer who can help build the computer vision engine and polished product experience behind the platform. This is a hands-on contractor role for someone who is comfortable owning outcomes, shipping production-quality work and challenging assumptions when there is a better technical or product approach. What You’ll Work On You’ll help design and build: Athlete detection, tracking and pose analysis from imperfect, family-recorded sprint videos Biomechanics, sprint-phase and ground-contact signals Confidence scoring and logic for withholding feedback when the evidence is insufficient A polished iPhone experience for video capture, replay and visual analysis Reliable cloud-based inference pipelines Evaluation and improvement loops using labelled sprint footage The product needs to work with real-world footage—not only controlled or professionally recorded video—so practical accuracy and reliability are more important than impressive demos. Who We’re Looking For You may be a strong fit if you: Are a senior engineer who ships, owns outcomes and questions assumptions Have deep applied experience in computer vision, video processing, pose estimation or temporal tracking Can work across Swift/iOS product engineering and Python/ML systems Understand how to turn model outputs into a simple and useful customer experience Care about accuracy, evidence, honest confidence levels and real-world product value Are comfortable working independently in an early-stage product environment Senior, Staff and Principal-level candidates are welcome to apply. Particularly Relevant Experience We’d be interested in seeing work involving: Human pose estimation Athlete or player tracking Sports biomechanics Temporal video analysis Video-based event detection On-device or cloud-based computer vision iOS camera and video applications Sports-tech or coaching products Production ML evaluation and monitoring You do not need experience in every area, but you should have significant depth in applied computer vision and be able to contribute across the product stack.
