Senior Building Estimator – Develop Kit Home Costing Configurator (Australia)

Overview We are an Australian shed home company looking for an experienced Senior Building Estimator to help develop the estimating logic for a scalable kit home costing configurator. This is not a traditional estimating role where you’ll price individual projects. Instead, you’ll help create the rules, formulas and bill of materials (BOM) required to automatically cost our standardised steel kit homes. Our goal is to build a pricing engine that can generate accurate kit costs in minutes based on design selections. About Us We manufacture and supply engineered steel shed home kits throughout Australia. Our kits include: ● Structural steel framing ● Roof & wall cladding ● Flashings ● Fasteners ● Brackets ● Builders wrap ● Associated kit components Our homes are based on standardised structural systems with multiple floorplans and design options. Scope of Work Working alongside our internal construction team, you will help develop the estimating methodology for our product range. This includes: ● Creating quantity calculation rules ● Developing Bill of Materials (BOM) logic ● Identifying required kit components ● Defining quantity formulas for each component ● Applying waste allowances ● Building estimating rules that can be automated ● Creating a master estimating workbook (Excel preferred) Examples include calculating: ● Steel framing quantities ● Roof & wall cladding ● Purlins & girts ● Builders wrap ● Brackets ● Fasteners ● Flashings ● Gutters ● Ridge capping ● Other standard kit inclusions The finished output will become the foundation for a digital costing configurator. Ideal Experience We’re looking for someone with experience in one or more of the following: ● Steel building estimating ● Shed buildings ● Pre-engineered buildings ● Modular or prefabricated homes ● Light industrial steel structures ● Manufacturing or product costing ● CostX ● Bluebeam ● Advanced Excel estimating models Experience creating estimating systems or product BOMs is highly desirable. Deliverables The successful contractor will produce: ● Master Bill of Materials ● Estimating calculation workbook ● Quantity formulas ● Waste allowances ● Component library ● Costing methodology documentation ● Recommendations for future automation Project Details ● Remote ● Initial engagement: 2–4 weeks ● Potential for ongoing work ● Immediate start preferred To Apply Please include: 1.
