We are looking for a highly technical, systems-oriented engineer who can help us architect, build, optimize, and scale AI-powered ecommerce operations and internal tools. This is NOT a basic Shopify developer role. We are looking for someone who: thinks in systems understands production reliability leverages AI to create efficiency builds scalable infrastructure understands business operations moves fast without sacrificing quality can architect and ship production-grade systems We’re Looking For A highly technical Senior AI Ecommerce Systems Engineer who can architect, build, and optimize customer-facing ecommerce experiences that directly impact conversion rates, customer satisfaction, and revenue. Beyond maintaining system reliability, this role requires a builder's mindset—someone who can create high-performing web pages, ecommerce funnels, and AI-powered customer experiences that align with business objectives. You should be comfortable owning the full ecommerce ecosystem, from customer experience and conversion optimization to system performance, automation, and production operations in live business environments. Strong experience is required in: ecommerce systems SaaS architecture automation workflows backend systems production debugging AI-assisted development operational scalability You should be comfortable building: AI-powered workflows internal operational tools ecommerce automations web pages intelligent support systems backend integrations production-grade SaaS applications multi-agent workflows You should also understand: ecommerce operations subscriptions checkout systems customer journeys conversion systems production deployments analytics/tracking operational reliability What You’ll Do AI Systems & Automation Build AI-powered systems, agents, automations, and internal operational tools Design and implement, AI workflows, and intelligent business systems Integrate OpenAI, Claude, OpenClaw, or similar AI frameworks into real production workflows Create systems that improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and internal execution speed Ecommerce Systems Engineering Architect and maintain scalable ecommerce infrastructure Improve checkout reliability, performance, and operational stability Troubleshoot production ecommerce issues under real business pressure Optimize subscription flows, backend automations, and customer lifecycle systems Ensure production systems remain stable during scaling and high traffic Backend Development Build and maintain internal tools, dashboards, and operational systems Design scalable backend services, APIs, integrations, and workflows Develop production-ready systems with strong architecture and maintainability Work across frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, and integrations QA, Reliability & Security Implement strong QA, deployment, rollback, and testing processes Maintain code quality and production reliability standards Improve monitoring, observability, and debugging systems Ensure security best practices across integrations and customer data Validate analytics, tracking, and production deployments Build or improve monitoring, logging, observability, and production debugging systems AI-Assisted Development Use AI tools intelligently to accelerate development workflows Understand where AI improves speed and where engineering judgment is required Maintain strong architectural control over AI-generated outputs Build production-safe AI workflows, not AI demos Tech Stack / Experience We Prefer Strong experience with several of the following: AI & Automation OpenAI APIs, Claude APIs, OpenClaw, AI agents, Agentic workflows, AI automation systems Backend Python, Node.js, Next.js, React, PostgreSQL, Supabase, AWS, APIs, Microservices, Ecommerce platforms Ecommerce Shopify, Ecommerce APIs, Subscription systems, Checkout flows, Checkout Champ, Ecommerce analytics, Tracking systems, Customer lifecycle systems Engineering & Operations CI/CD, Production debugging, Monitoring/observability, QA systems, Rollback strategies, Performance optimization, Security awareness, Infrastructure scaling You Might Be a Great Fit If You: have built production AI systems or ecommerce platforms think like a systems architect, not just a coder care deeply about operational reliability understand ecommerce business operations move fast but safely are highly proactive and ownership-driven can independently solve difficult technical problems understand both engineering and business impact To Apply Please submit a Loom video answering the following: Walk us through the most serious production issue you personally handled.
