Senior Elixir / Phoenix Developer - (Real-Time Middleware / High-Scale Systems)

We're building a scalable real-time audio/video communication platform and need an experienced Elixir developer to implement the real-time middleware layer alongside our existing NestJS backend. Our stack: React, NestJS, PostgreSQL, Jitsi/JVB (audio), Bunny.net (CDN), Infomaniak VPS. Scope (1 month): Set up Elixir/Phoenix project integrated with our NestJS backend Implement Phoenix Channels for WebSocket connections (replacing Socket.io) Build presence tracking (online status, room membership) PubSub notification broadcasting to subscribers Jitsi VPS load balancer — route users to least-loaded JVB instance OTP supervision trees for fault tolerance Documentation and handover to existing team Must have: 3+ years production Elixir/Phoenix OTP patterns: GenServer, Supervisors, ETS Phoenix Channels at scale PostgreSQL / Ecto Nice to have: WebRTC/Jitsi, NestJS familiarity, distributed Elixir clustering, German language. You'll define the Elixir architecture for a platform targeting 10M+ users on the same BEAM stack that powers WhatsApp and Discord. Share your Elixir experience and any relevant Phoenix Channel work.
