Summary

IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING This is NOT a project to design a computer, operating system, motherboard, or electronics from scratch. The major hardware components have already been selected. I am looking for a highly experienced U.S.-based embedded systems engineer to professionally integrate EXISTING hardware into a vintage stereo receiver while maintaining a factory-quality appearance. The finished system must look original from the outside while hiding a complete modern computer system inside. This is a complete engineering integration project combining mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, embedded systems, CAD, PCB integration, Windows, Android, and final assembly. The engineer must be comfortable designing, modifying, integrating, assembling, testing, documenting, and delivering a FULLY COMPLETED, FULLY OPERATIONAL system. PROJECT REQUIREMENTS • Integrate existing mini PC hardware • Integrate Windows and Android (dual-boot or approved solution) • Integrate existing camera hardware • Integrate existing LTE/5G modem hardware • Integrate Bluetooth capability • Integrate Wi-Fi • Design and integrate custom power distribution • Design any required PCB(s) • Design internal mounting system • Design custom brackets where necessary • Design and fabricate 3D printed components if needed • Design a professional internal enclosure that completely conceals the electronics • Professionally route and secure all wiring • Design proper airflow and silent cooling • Modify the rear panel only where necessary while maintaining a clean factory appearance • Integrate external USB, Ethernet, HDMI, power, antenna, and other required connections • Ensure the receiver operates safely, reliably, and is suitable for continuous long-term operation INTERNAL ENCLOSURE REQUIREMENTS The receiver will contain two levels of enclosure. The original outer receiver housing will remain removable. Inside that housing will be a custom internal enclosure that completely hides all electronics. This internal enclosure must completely conceal the wiring, PCB assemblies, mini PC, modem, power supplies, and supporting hardware. The internal enclosure must be permanently sealed after final assembly so that the electronics cannot be accessed without intentionally breaking the sealed enclosure. The finished product must look professionally engineered—not like a hobby project. PROJECT DELIVERABLES • Complete CAD files • Mechanical drawings • PCB design files (if required) • Wiring diagrams • Assembly documentation • Progress photos • Progress videos • Thermal testing • Functional testing • Final demonstration video • Complete engineering documentation • A FULLY COMPLETED, FULLY OPERATIONAL, PRODUCTION-QUALITY SYSTEM ready for long-term daily use COMMUNICATION Frequent communication is required. I expect regular progress updates including CAD screenshots, engineering discussions, photos, videos, and milestone demonstrations throughout the project. DO NOT APPLY IF • You primarily develop software only. • You only design PCBs. • You do not have experience integrating complete hardware systems. • You cannot provide examples of similar engineering work. WHEN APPLYING Please include: • Similar embedded systems projects • Mechanical integration projects • CAD examples • PCB examples • Photos of completed builds • Videos of completed builds • Experience integrating Windows, Android, cameras, LTE/5G, power systems, and custom enclosures The complete Scope of Work (SOW) will be provided after an NDA is signed to qualified candidates. IMPORTANT: This project is considered complete only when every requirement in the Scope of Work has been successfully implemented, fully tested, demonstrated, documented, and accepted. I am hiring for a finished, production-quality engineering build—not a prototype, proof of concept, or partially completed project.
