Senior AI-Enabled Bookkeeper / Finance Ops Lead Help Build an AI-Powered Finance System

We're looking for an experienced bookkeeper who wants to help build the future of AI-powered finance operations. This is not a traditional bookkeeping role. You'll maintain accurate books across multiple organizations while working alongside an AI development team building an open-source, AI-assisted finance platform (ERPNext, Claude Code, AI-assisted categorization, human approval workflows). Your judgment helps teach the system — over time, AI handles the repetitive work while you focus increasingly on review, exceptions, process improvement, and finance operations leadership. You'll be responsible for: Maintaining accurate books for multiple entities; designing charts of accounts Reconciling bank, credit card, and payment accounts Reviewing AI-generated accounting suggestions — approving, rejecting, or correcting entries Monthly close and financial statements Identifying unusual transactions and documenting accounting decisions Helping define accounting rules that can later be automated Collaborating with AI developers to improve automation What makes this different: you're not competing with AI — you're helping build an AI-powered finance organization. Every correction improves the system. Your judgment becomes more valuable as automation increases. Ideal candidate: strong bookkeeping experience, solid on double-entry, multi-company/multi-entity experience, organized and detail-oriented, enjoys improving systems, curious about AI, communicates clearly, and comfortable documenting processes. Experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, ERPNext, multi-company or international accounting, and AI tools (ChatGPT/Claude) is a plus. ERPNext experience is not required if you're willing to learn.
