Senior AI Engineer (Python | RAG | Agentic AI | Chatbots) – Monthly Retainer (UK-Based Projects)

We are a UK-based technology company building advanced AI-powered systems and are looking for a highly skilled Senior AI Engineer to join our team on a monthly retainer basis. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who has strong hands-on experience delivering end-to-end AI solutions and can independently handle complex, production-level systems with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and security. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop end-to-end AI solutions for real-world applications Build and optimize RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines Develop intelligent chatbots and agentic AI systems Integrate LLMs with APIs, databases, and external tools Ensure system security, data privacy, and safe AI practices Collaborate with the UK-based team on heavy production projects Maintain and improve deployed AI systems Required Skills & Experience: Strong proficiency in Python Proven experience in RAG architectures (vector databases, embeddings, retrieval systems) Hands-on experience with Chatbots (OpenAI, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar frameworks) Experience in Agentic AI systems / autonomous workflows Ability to deliver end-to-end production-ready AI solutions Strong understanding of API integration, backend systems, and cloud deployment Security-aware development practices (data protection, prompt safety, access control) Preferred Profile: Top Rated / Top Rated Plus freelancers preferred Demonstrated portfolio of real-world AI products or enterprise solutions Experience working with international (especially UK/US) clients Strong problem-solving and independent execution skills Engagement Model: Monthly retainer (long-term collaboration) Full-time commitment expected High-responsibility, high-impact projects Weekly Zoom meeting to discuss the progress of the project.
