Senior Fashion Designer

Senior Fashion Designer (Long-Term Opportunity) Location: Remote- Or come to our Office in NYC :) Employment Type: Contract to Full-Time (via Upwork) We are a fast-growing apparel development and manufacturing company seeking an experienced Senior Fashion Designer to assist. This role will begin as a contract position through Upwork with the goal of transitioning the right candidate into a full-time, long-term position. You'll work with a diverse portfolio of brands across multiple industries, leading the design and development process from concept through production. We're looking for someone who is highly creative, organized, and experienced working directly with manufacturers and production teams. What You'll Do Research fashion trends, consumer insights, and emerging market opportunities. Develop seasonal concepts and collections for clients across 8 different industries and product categories. Create technical flats, sketches, and presentations using Adobe Illustrator and CAD software. Source new fabrics, trims, embellishments, and raw materials with manufacturing partners. Select colors, fabrics, washes, prints, and construction details for each collection. Collaborate with our Creative Director, product development team, and overseas factories throughout the development process. Present concepts and seasonal collections to internal teams and clients. Review prototypes, lab dips, strike-offs, and samples, providing clear vendor feedback. Attend fit sessions and make construction and fit recommendations. Prepare and maintain line sheets, presentation boards, tech packs, and design documentation. Help oversee production to ensure products meet quality, aesthetic, and brand standards. Stay current on industry trends, materials, and manufacturing innovations. Support additional design and product development projects as needed. Qualifications 5+ years of professional fashion design experience Strong portfolio demonstrating apparel design across multiple categories Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (required) Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop Experience creating technical flats and production-ready design packages Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, trims, fit, and manufacturing Experience working directly with overseas factories and vendors Excellent color sense, trend forecasting, and attention to detail Exceptional organizational and project management skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines What We're Looking For: We're looking for someone who doesn't simply create beautiful designs—we're looking for a designer who understands how to develop products that can successfully move into production for our clients!
