Senior FreePBX / Asterisk Developer

Project Overview We are developing a custom PBX management solution for the hospitality industry. We want to use FreePBX and Asterisk as the underlying PBX engine, while managing all daily PBX functions through our own custom interface. Customers and integrators should not need to use the standard FreePBX GUI. Our existing platform is built with: PHP Yii Framework Metronic 9 MySQL/MariaDB REST APIs The user interface has already been designed in Figma and should be implemented accurately within the existing Metronic 9 design system. We are looking for an experienced developer with strong knowledge of FreePBX, Asterisk, PHP/Yii, SIP, API integration, and real-time telephony events. Main Responsibilities The selected developer will: Integrate our platform with FreePBX and Asterisk Use FreePBX GraphQL or REST APIs where available Use Asterisk AMI for real-time call and extension status Use ARI where advanced call control is required Integrate CDR/CEL for call history and reporting Develop a custom FreePBX connector or module for functions not exposed by the standard API Build the required PHP/Yii backend services Convert the provided Figma designs into responsive Metronic 9 frontend screens Ensure the final interface closely matches the approved Figma design Initial Features Phase 1 should include: PBX dashboard Extension creation and management Hotel room-to-extension assignment Extension online/offline status Guest name and caller ID Voicemail and call forwarding Calling permissions Wake-up calls SIP trunk status Ring groups Active call monitoring CDR reports and call charging PMS check-in and checkout actions Role-based access for hotels, integrators, and support administrators Future phases may include: SIP trunk configuration Inbound and outbound routes IVR Queues Time conditions Phone provisioning Backup and restore WebRTC AI voice concierge Multi-hotel PBX management Technical Requirements The solution must: Avoid direct browser access to FreePBX, AMI, or ARI Avoid unsafe direct database modifications Use secure server-to-server authentication Support audit logs and clear error handling Safely reload FreePBX configuration Detect synchronisation failures Remain maintainable across supported FreePBX upgrades Follow the provided Figma designs Be responsive across desktop and tablet devices Remain consistent with the existing Metronic 9 components and styling Required Experience Applicants should have proven experience with: FreePBX and Asterisk FreePBX module development GraphQL or REST APIs Asterisk AMI and ARI SIP/PJSIP PHP and Yii Framework MySQL/MariaDB Metronic 9 or similar admin themes Figma-to-HTML/frontend implementation Linux server administration Real-time telephony monitoring Experience with hospitality PBX systems, PMS integrations, wake-up calls, call accounting, and multi-tenant platforms will be considered an advantage.
