# Full-Stack Developer — Homeopathic Pharmacy Platform (Stellar Online) **Location:** Remote **Type:** As needed **Stack:** Python (FastAPI) · TypeScript (Next.js) · PostgreSQL · AWS ## About the product Stellar Online is a UK homeopathic pharmacy platform — e-commerce for customers and practitioners, plus the operational tools staff use to approve, prepare, and dispatch made-to-order remedies. It is not a generic Shopify storefront: it includes patient records, prescription workflows, inventory/lineage tracking, payment links, Royal Mail fulfillment, and admin Kanban operations, in a regulated pharmacy context. The product is live in development toward launch, with a substantial existing codebase and clear engineering conventions. ## What you’ll work on * **Customer shop** — catalog, variants/potencies, cart, checkout, promo codes, account * **Practitioner flows** — verification, ordering on behalf of patients, form-to-order worksheets * **Staff/admin ops** — order Kanban, inventory, alerts, reports, marketing email, settings * **Integrations** — Nomupay/Total Processing payments, SendGrid, AWS S3/CloudFront, Royal Mail Click & Drop * **Fulfillment tooling** — batch numbers, PDF packing slips / bottle labels, inventory linking * **Platform quality** — Alembic migrations, pytest coverage, typed API contracts, feature docs before build ## Tech you’ll use daily | Area | Stack | | ------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Backend** | Python 3.11+, FastAPI, Pydantic v2, SQLAlchemy 2, Alembic, uv, pytest | | **Frontend** | TypeScript, React 19, Next.js App Router, Tailwind v4, shadcn/ui | | **Data** | PostgreSQL, soft deletes, layered router → service → repository | | **Auth** | JWT, RBAC (customer / practitioner / staff / admin) | | **Infra** | AWS EC2 + RDS + S3/CloudFront, Nginx, Gunicorn, shell deploy scripts | **Rough scale today:** ~37 models, 60+ Alembic migrations, 40+ API routers, 60+ frontend pages, 75+ test files, and detailed feature documentation. ## Who we’re looking for ### Must have * Strong full-stack experience with FastAPI + Next.js (App Router) * Comfortable owning PostgreSQL schema design and Alembic migrations * Experience building e-commerce or order-lifecycle systems (cart, checkout, payments, fulfillment) * Clean, typed TypeScript/React; reuse-first component discipline * Ability to work across API, UI, and production debugging without heavy CI hand-holding ### Strongly preferred * Payment gateway integration (pay-by-link, refunds, status sync) * Healthcare / pharmacy / regulated-data experience (patient records, audit trails, GDPR) * AWS deployment (EC2, RDS, S3) and transactional email (SendGrid or similar) * Shipping API or PDF/label generation experience * Background jobs / schedulers (APScheduler, Celery, or similar) ### Nice to have * UK pharmacy / GPhC / MHRA awareness * Shopify migration or catalog import work * Kanban UIs, TipTap, or similar admin tooling ## How we work * Feature docs before implementation; update docs when behavior changes * Thin routers, business logic in services, persistence in repositories * Strict frontend component hierarchy (shared primitives before one-off UI) * Small team, high ownership — you’ll ship end-to-end features, not tickets in isolation ## Ideal fit Someone who enjoys complex domain logic more than greenfield CRUD: dual order statuses, practitioner vs public catalog rules, patient scoping, inventory lineage, and payment/fulfillment edge cases. You should be confident reading an existing codebase and extending it carefully rather than rewriting it.
