Summary

Full-Stack Developer Needed to Build a SCORM 1.2 Runtime for a React/Node.js LMS Project Overview We are building our own corporate learning platform and need an experienced developer to implement a complete SCORM 1.2 runtime. This is not a Moodle customization or LMS installation. Our platform is already running and includes: React frontend Node.js backend PostgreSQL (Supabase) Authentication User management Courses Enrollments Existing learning progress The missing piece is the SCORM runtime layer. Goal Implement SCORM 1.2 support for content generated by: Articulate Storyline 360 Articulate Rise 360 The learner should be able to: Launch SCORM packages Resume exactly where they stopped Save progress Save completion status Save score Save session time Save total time Generate reliable reports Scope The first milestone includes: Package Import Upload SCORM ZIP Parse imsmanifest.xml Extract package Register SCOs Store assets Runtime Implement the LMS runtime that exposes the SCORM API to the content. The runtime should correctly support: Initialize GetValue SetValue Commit Finish/Terminate Data Persistence Store at least: lesson_status score session_time total_time lesson_location suspend_data completion interactions (if applicable) We prefer keeping both: Raw CMI data Normalized tables for reporting Player React-based player iframe execution Communication bridge between content and backend Backend Node.js + PostgreSQL (Supabase) Secure persistence. No direct writes from browser to database. Testing Testing with real packages exported from: Storyline 360 Rise 360 Resume functionality must work exactly as expected. Nice to Have Experience with: scorm-again SCORM 2004 xAPI LRS Rustici Corporate LMS platforms Deliverables Working SCORM runtime Package import React player Backend integration Technical documentation Architecture documentation Important We are not looking for someone who only knows the SCORM specification. We prefer developers who have implemented SCORM runtimes in custom platforms outside Moodle or commercial LMS products. When applying, please answer: Have you implemented SCORM in a custom platform? Which runtime/library would you use? How would you model persistence? How would you handle suspend_data and resume? Have you tested with Storyline and Rise packages?
