# Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Next.js + FastAPI) Long-Term Contract | Immediate Start | Recovery Housing Marketplace We're looking for a senior full-stack engineer to help us finish and stabilize an existing SaaS platform. This is a live marketplace connecting people seeking recovery housing with homeowners, case managers, and administrators. The platform is already built and actively used. We need someone who can quickly onboard into an existing codebase, diagnose issues independently, and ship production-ready fixes. This is not a greenfield project and we're not looking for someone to rewrite the system. ## Tech Stack ### Frontend - Next.js 15 (App Router) - React 19 - TypeScript - Tailwind CSS - Radix / shadcn - React Hook Form - Zod ### Backend - FastAPI - Async SQLAlchemy / SQLModel - PostgreSQL - Alembic - Redis ### Auth & Infrastructure - Clerk - Docker - AWS S3 - Resend - Netlify - Playwright - Jest - Pytest ## What You'll Work On Examples from our active backlog: - Fix full-stack bugs that span React, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL - Improve client-to-home matching logic and scoring - Stabilize onboarding flows for clients, homeowners, and case managers - Improve admin approval workflows - Fix notification and transactional email delivery - Help establish CI/CD and automated testing - Identify and resolve data integrity issues across the platform ## What We're Looking For You should be comfortable: - Reading and debugging a large existing codebase - Working independently with minimal hand-holding - Tracing issues across frontend, backend, and database layers - Shipping production-ready fixes safely - Working in codebases that contain technical debt Much of this system was generated through automated tooling and AI-assisted development. Success in this role requires strong debugging skills, not just feature development. ## Required Experience - 5+ years full-stack development - 3+ years with Next.js and React in production - 3+ years building and maintaining FastAPI applications - Strong PostgreSQL experience - Async SQLAlchemy / SQLModel - Alembic migrations - JWT-based authentication systems (Clerk or similar) - Playwright testing - Strong written English communication ## Do Not Apply If - You're frontend-only or backend-only - Your Python experience is primarily Django or Flask without async systems - You prefer rewriting systems instead of fixing them - You struggle working inside existing codebases - You rely entirely on AI-generated code and cannot independently debug issues ## Paid Trial (Required) Shortlisted candidates will complete a paid 2–4 hour task using a real bug from our codebase.
