Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Next.js / Vercel / Shopify Headless / AI-Assisted Development)

We are building a premium furniture restoration and e-commerce website focused on performance, SEO, and scalability. The frontend is built with Next.js and deployed on Vercel, with a headless Shopify backend. The project is well underway, and we're looking for a senior engineer to perform a comprehensive technical review, identify remaining gaps, and help bring the site to production. This is not a junior development role. We're looking for someone who can think like a technical architect, identify potential issues before launch, and implement best practices across the entire stack. Responsibilities Perform a comprehensive technical audit of the existing codebase. Review overall application architecture and recommend improvements where appropriate. Identify everything required before production launch, including performance, security, reliability, SEO, accessibility, and scalability. Review the implementation of our Next.js application running on Vercel. Evaluate our headless Shopify integration, including products, collections, checkout flow, webhooks, APIs, and synchronization. Review database architecture, schema design, and data flow. Ensure the application follows modern engineering best practices. Optimize Core Web Vitals and page performance. Review caching strategy, image optimization, ISR/SSR/SSG, and edge deployment where appropriate. Validate international commerce readiness, including: Multiple currencies International shipping Taxes Regional storefront behavior Localization considerations Review nationwide U.S. shipping and commerce workflows. Review SEO implementation, structured data, redirects, metadata, sitemap generation, robots.txt, canonical URLs, and indexing strategy. Review analytics, monitoring, logging, and error reporting. Review security and deployment practices. Work with our existing development team to prioritize and implement recommendations. Required Experience 7+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience. Expert-level experience with Next.js (App Router). Strong experience deploying applications on Vercel. Extensive experience building headless Shopify websites. Strong knowledge of React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript. Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar). Experience designing scalable application architecture. Strong understanding of APIs, authentication, webhooks, and integrations. Experience with caching strategies and performance optimization. Experience with production deployments and CI/CD pipelines. Strong understanding of technical SEO. Experience launching production e-commerce websites. AI-Assisted Development Our development workflow makes extensive use of AI-assisted coding tools. You should be comfortable using tools such as: Cursor Claude Code GitHub Copilot (or similar) You should understand how to use AI effectively while maintaining high engineering standards, code quality, testing, and security.
