Summary

Senior Full Stack Engineer (AI-Native, Trial Project → Ongoing Contract) About Us - AI Venture Studio We are an AI-first venture studio. We build, test, and validate multiple AI-native businesses in parallel, rapidly turning early prototypes into scalable, investable products. Every project has AI at its core and we operate with a strong bias toward speed, ownership, and real customer validation. You will work across several ventures at once, including AI focus groups, tools for music artists, and AI-powered recruitment platforms. ⸻ The Role We are hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer for an initial trial project, with the intention to move into a longer-term contract or fractional role (30 to 40 hours per week) for the right person. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. You will help spin up early products, evolve existing builds, and take prototypes toward robust, customer-facing and enterprise-ready systems. This is not a vibe-coding-only role. You need to move fast and also know how to build things properly. ⸻ You’ll • Own and evolve backend systems that power multiple AI-native products, making them robust, scalable, and enterprise-ready. • Build and ship features end to end, from product requirements through to production. • Work closely with founders and product leads to translate real workflows into software. • Implement and maintain LLM-powered, agentic systems as an applied layer within products. • Make architectural decisions and help set technical standards early across ventures. • Move fast, iterate in production, and improve products based on real usage and feedback. ⸻ Who You Are • A senior full stack engineer with roughly 6 to 8 years of experience shipping real products. • You have built and launched software that real users rely on. • You are comfortable working in ambiguity and do not need everything fully defined to make progress. • You are product-minded and care deeply about how users experience what you build. • You take ownership, push through complexity, and go beyond your immediate remit when needed. • You are excited by the potential of AI and applied LLM systems and want to build them responsibly. • You want to contribute to building meaningful products, not just another feature factory. ⸻ Current Stack • Frontend: React, TypeScript, Shadcn, Tailwind • Backend: TypeScript, Supabase (database and edge functions), FastAPI • Infrastructure: Containerised services, Google Cloud Platform • AI: LLM-powered systems and agentic workflows You do not need to have used every tool listed, but you should be comfortable operating at this level and making good technical decisions. ⸻ Bonus if You • Have experience working with LLMs, agentic systems, or AI evaluation frameworks such as Langfuse. • Have experience running containerised applications on Google Cloud Platform and provisioning infrastructure using Terraform. • Have experience converting vibe-coded or prototype products into customer-facing, enterprise-ready systems. • Have worked in early-stage startups or venture-backed environments. • Are interested in the intersection of technology, AI, and human behaviour. • See yourself growing into technical leadership over time. ⸻ Trial Project and Contract • This role starts with a defined trial project. • If successful, we will discuss an ongoing hourly or retainer contract at 30 to 40 hours per week. • This is a freelance role. No equity. ⸻ Interview Process 1. Loom Video Submission (Required) Five minutes maximum. Walk us through a product you have built. Cover what the product does, your role in building it end to end, the technical decisions you made, and the impact it had. Applications without a Loom video will not be reviewed. 2. Intro Interview Background, motivations, and fit. 3. Technical Discussion Deep dive into architecture, AI systems, and execution approach. 4. Trial Project Defined scope and deliverables. ⸻ How to Apply Please submit: • Your CV or Upwork profile with relevant links. • A five-minute Loom video walking us through a product you have built.
