Senior Full-Stack GIS Developer (PropTech Startup) | Build Housing Intelligence Map MVP About CMPLX CMPLX is building America's Housing Intelligence Platform a PropTech company focused on solving the housing crisis by connecting housing need with investors. Our first product is an interactive nationwide mapping platform that analyzes housing demand, distressed property opportunities, and public funding programs using U.S. government datasets. This MVP will serve as the foundation for our broader platform, which will expand into investment workflows, AI underwriting, and transaction management as the company grows. We're looking for an experienced Full-Stack Developer with GIS expertise to build this first phase. Project Overview This contract is Phase 1 only and focuses exclusively on developing our Housing Intelligence Map MVP. The application will visualize housing intelligence across the United States using government datasets and provide users with actionable insights through an intuitive web interface. This is the first milestone in a multi-phase product roadmap. As we reach user growth and fundraising milestones, additional platform modules will be developed. Each future phase will be scoped and bid separately. Phase 1 Responsibilities Build a responsive web-based GIS mapping application. Develop interactive U.S. county and state maps. Integrate and normalize multiple government datasets. Display housing intelligence through heat maps, filters, and data layers. Build searchable market profiles for counties, cities, and states. Develop a scalable backend architecture for future platform expansion. Optimize performance for large geospatial datasets. Design APIs that support future platform modules. Government Data Sources (Examples) Experience working with public datasets is highly preferred. We're open to your recommendations, but experience with the following is preferred: Frontend React or Next.js TypeScript Tailwind CSS Backend Node.js Python (preferred for data processing) REST APIs GIS / Mapping Mapbox GL JS MapLibre Leaflet OpenLayers PostGIS GeoJSON Vector Tiles Database PostgreSQL/PostGIS Supabase (preferred) Redis (optional) Cloud AWS Google Cloud Azure Nice to Have Experience building PropTech or GIS products. Experience working with large geospatial datasets. ETL/data pipeline experience. AI or machine learning experience. Dashboard or analytics platform experience. Startup experience. What Success Looks Like By the end of Phase 1, we'll have a production-ready MVP that allows users to: Explore the United States through an interactive housing intelligence map. Search by state, county, or city. View housing demand scores and key market indicators. Explore government funding opportunities. Filter multiple data layers. Access market summaries generated from public data. This MVP should be designed with future expansion in mind. Future Opportunity This project is intended to become a long-term partnership. As CMPLX reaches product adoption and fundraising milestones, we plan to expand the platform with additional modules. Each module will be scoped and contracted as a separate phase.
