Senior Full-Stack Node.js / Vue.js Developer
Worldwide
About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Full-Stack Developer for a targeted optimization contract to resolve specific backend performance and memory bottlenecks on our live staging environment. Our application features data-heavy construction technology tools, estimating workflows, and architectural plan assets. Currently, specific modules suffer from V8 engine heap out-of-memory crashes caused by un-paginated eager-loading queries. The root files and exact database structures causing this issue have already been isolated. Your job will be to refactor the data flow from a "pull-everything" model to an efficient, server-side paginated and lazy-loaded structure. Core Objectives https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_3u_FJLSSYUtfEF5ieiE7W_bD1KOoZ1JVqecoBqPtv8/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.ql9qvia8bihk Refactor Backend Queries: Optimize isolated INNER JOIN / LEFT OUTER JOIN queries across relational tables (tbl_products, tbl_product_variants, tbl_assemblies) using Sequelize/Node.js. Implement Server-Side Pagination: Introduce pagination parameters (LIMIT and OFFSET) on data-heavy endpoints to cap default payloads to a maximum of 50 items. Build Autocomplete Search Endpoints: Create high-performance, lightweight backend search routes that filter catalog data dynamically on-demand. Update Frontend Components: Modify Vue.js dropdown selectors and estimation tables to asynchronously consume the new paginated API and handle user search inputs smoothly in real-time. Process Stabilization: Adjust Node.js/V8 heap memory limits and process execution options under PM2 on our Linux environment. Technical Requirements Strong experience with Node.js (NestJS / Express) and relational database management (PostgreSQL/MySQL via Sequelize or similar ORMs). Strong experience with Vue.js for frontend state management and asynchronous UI component integration. Experience with Redis and managing background workers or configurations. Comfortable working directly via terminal on Linux server environments utilizing PM2 for process management. Proven track record of fixing memory leaks, tracking down OOM errors via logs, and optimizing data payloads. Project Details Project Type: Short-term contract with potential for ongoing feature development. Estimated Timeframe: 2 to 3 days (16–20 hours of focused work). Current Status: The problematic code files, server log outputs, and exact functional requirements are ready to be handed to you on Day 1 so you can dive straight in.
