Senior Hardware Product Designer | Industrial IoT Device | CAD + PCB + Prototype (ODM Ready)

## Senior Hardware Product Designer (Industrial IoT / Warehouse Automation) We are building a next-generation warehouse automation platform and are looking for an experienced hardware product designer to help us design several industrial devices from concept through manufacturing-ready prototype. This is **not** an Arduino hobby project. We are looking for someone who has experience designing products that ultimately go into mass production through ODM/OEM manufacturers. Our software platform is already built. Your responsibility is designing the hardware. ### Project Goals Initially we have two hardware products. ### Project 1 - Smart Pick Display System Design a modular display system that attaches to warehouse shelving and storage bins. The system should: * Display bin/location numbers * Be individually addressable * Connect together in long chains * Support hundreds (preferably thousands) of displays from one controller * Be reliable in warehouse environments * Allow easy installation and replacement * Minimize wiring complexity * Be low cost to manufacture * Support firmware updates * Communicate with our software through a central controller (API integration handled by our software team) We're open to recommendations regarding: * ESP32 * STM32 * CAN Bus * RS485 * Ethernet * Power distribution * Daisy-chain architecture * Wireless vs wired * OLED * E-Paper * LCD * LED * Any better industrial approach We are **not** attached to Arduino if a better architecture exists. --- ### Project 2 - Automated Small Item Dispenser Design a compact automated dispensing system capable of dispensing small pharmaceutical vials from individual storage slots. Requirements include: * Multiple SKU storage * Individual dispensing * Controlled release * Jam detection * Inventory sensing * Modular expansion * Serviceability * Industrial reliability The goal is to automate small-item picking inside a warehouse. --- ### Deliverables We expect complete engineering documentation including: * Product architecture * Mechanical design * 3D CAD models * PCB design * Electronics schematics * BOM (Bill of Materials) * Firmware architecture * Manufacturing recommendations * DFM improvements * Prototype files * STL files for prototype printing * STEP files * Assembly drawings * Manufacturing drawings * Factory handoff package suitable for an ODM/OEM manufacturer --- ### Nice to Have Experience with: * Pick-to-Light systems * Warehouse automation * Industrial automation * Conveyor systems * Robotics * Embedded firmware * Industrial communication protocols * Injection molding * Sheet metal design * Electronics manufacturing * Chinese or Taiwanese ODM manufacturers --- ### About Us We are building an AI-native warehouse management and fulfillment platform for modern commerce. The hardware will integrate with our existing software platform and become part of a commercial warehouse automation product.
