Senior Hungarian Accountant / Financial Specialist

We are an AI accounting service operating our own AI accounting platform that handles a company's full books — invoicing, ÁFA, payroll, ledger and statements. We're launching a pilot in Hungary and need a senior Hungarian accountant / financial specialist to take a real client end-to-end on the platform. You'll be the human owner and last mile: the platform does the heavy lifting, and you run the client, verify everything against Hungarian law, and own the professional judgment and the filings. Important — how the pilot works: this runs in parallel with the client's current accountant. Nothing is switched over until the books reconcile cleanly and you're confident. You are the expert who makes that switchover safe — and once we're confident, you continue as the client's accountant, with the AI doing the routine work under your supervision. What you'd own: - The full accounting cycle for the pilot company on the platform — bookkeeping, ÁFA bevallás, 08-as payroll withholding, period close, year-end (Számviteli törvény / e-beszámoló). - NAV interactions: Online Számla, electronic filing, e-representation. - Reconciling our numbers to the prior accountant's figures and the last filed returns before go-live. - Telling us precisely where the platform is right and where it's wrong, with the statutory basis — so we improve the engine, not just the entry. You must have: - Senior, hands-on Hungarian accounting experience — confident running a company end-to-end on your own (not just one area). - Deep practical command of NAV (Online Számla, ÁFA), payroll (SZJA, TB, szociális hozzájárulási adó, 08-as), and the Számviteli törvény + kontótükör. - Comfort working inside software and giving structured, precise feedback (you're operating and reviewing a tool, not only doing the books). - Working Hungarian + good English. Discretion — you'll see a real company's live financials (NDA required). Nice to have: experience migrating a client between accounting systems; e-beszámoló filing; a mix of bookkeeping + advisory/financial-controlling background. Engagement: ongoing through the pilot, with room to grow into a standing role across more clients as we scale.
