Senior Instrumentation & Controls Consultant

Job Title: Senior Instrumentation & Controls Consultant — Critical Infrastructure (Advisory, Part-Time/Ongoing) Job Description: We're an early-stage technology company building a data analytics platform for critical infrastructure operators, and are looking for a senior instrumentation and controls consultant to advise on operational data realities as we develop and validate the platform. What we're looking for: • 20+ years of hands-on instrumentation, controls, and monitoring systems experience across industrial or municipal facilities • Direct exposure across multiple sites (ideally 20+), including a range of control system platforms and architectures • Comfort discussing what operational data is realistically captured at the field level, how it flows into monitoring/control systems, and where common data-quality or integration gaps tend to occur • Experience across more than one sector (e.g., water, energy, gas, general industrial) is a plus — we're particularly interested in advisors whose experience isn't limited to a single vertical Scope of engagement: • Advisory conversations only, on a periodic/as-needed basis, not full-time employment • Occasional review of technical materials for general accuracy before internal or external use • Engagement scope may expand over time based on fit What this is NOT: • Not a software development or coding role • Not a request for access to any specific employer's or client's proprietary data, general professional experience only • Not a request for confidential or trade-secret information from your current or former employers Compensation: Open to hourly consulting rate or advisory arrangement, depending on engagement depth, happy to discuss based on background.
