Senior Java Application Support Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Java Application Support Engineer to assist our lead IT resource in maintaining, supporting, and enhancing our existing enterprise applications. Position Overview This role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional who enjoys troubleshooting, supporting existing applications, improving system performance, and assisting with ongoing software enhancements. The successful candidate will work directly with our IT leadership to support business-critical applications and help ensure system stability, performance, and reliability. Primary Responsibilities Support and maintain existing Java web applications Troubleshoot application, database, and integration issues Diagnose and resolve production support tickets Develop and maintain SQL queries, reports, and database procedures Assist with API integrations and data feeds Perform application testing and validation Document system functionality and technical procedures Monitor application performance and identify improvement opportunities Participate in software enhancement and modernization initiatives Collaborate with business users and software developers to resolve issues Required Technical Skills 5+ years of Java development and support experience Experience with JSP (JavaServer Pages) JavaScript and jQuery experience PostgreSQL database experience Strong SQL query development skills Apache/Tomcat administration experience REST API integration experience Git version control Experience supporting enterprise business applications Preferred Qualifications Spring Boot experience Linux server administration Docker experience AWS or Azure experience Reporting and business intelligence experience Transportation, logistics, fleet management, or claims management software experience Desired Personal Qualities Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Self-directed and dependable Excellent communication skills Ability to work independently in a remote environment Comfortable supporting both technical and non-technical users Documentation-oriented mindset Position Details Remote Position Flexible Hours Contract or Part-Time Initially Opportunity for Long-Term Engagement Competitive Hourly Rate Based on Experience
