Lead 3D CAD & Mechanical Design Engineer Company: Fair Enterprises / Marble Location: Remote / Hybrid Role Type: Full-Time / Contract Position Overview We are seeking an exceptionally skilled Lead 3D CAD & Mechanical Design Engineer to translate proprietary intellectual property (IP), provisional patent filings, and initial technical specifications into fully rendered, precise 3D mechanical models and high-impact visual assets. In this role, you will work directly with leadership to bridge the gap between abstract algorithmic/structural concepts and functional, production-ready CAD models. You will take baseline engineering constraints, system boundaries, and material specs to build scalable parametric models, exploded-assembly views, and photorealistic renders for partner reviews, structural simulations, and executive presentations. Key Responsibilities IP & Technical Spec Translation: Synthesize provisional patent documentation, initial engineering specs, hand sketches, and mathematical frameworks into precise, fully constrained 3D parametric CAD models. Interface & Specs Definition: Establish and maintain initial mechanical specifications, geometric tolerances (GD&T), structural load boundaries, and assembly interfaces across complex components. Photorealistic Rendering & Visualization: Generate high-resolution, production-grade 3D renders, cross-sectional views, and exploded-assembly animations for engineering partners, investors, and strategic stakeholders. DFM & Design Iteration: Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to ensure CAD assemblies align with hardware tolerances and manufacturing realities. Asset & IP Security: Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to zero-trust file management protocols to safeguard proprietary trade secrets and patent-pending architectures. Technical Documentation & BOM: Develop comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOM), initial technical data sheets, revision controls, and standardized file exports (STEP, IGES, STL) for downstream analysis. Qualifications & Skills Technical Expertise: 3D CAD Software: Mastery of industry-standard parametric modeling tools (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA, or Siemens NX). Rendering & Animation: Proficiency in advanced rendering engines (KeyShot, Blender, V-Ray, or Unreal Engine) to produce photorealistic visual assets. Engineering Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Design, or equivalent hands-on industry experience. Spec Development & Tolerancing: Proven ability to define initial technical specifications, perform tolerance stack-up analyses, and work with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). IP Interpretation: Demonstrated experience taking early-stage provisional specs or concept briefs and independently building production-grade 3D assemblies. Professional Qualities: High degree of discretion and respect for trade secret confidentiality. Strong self-direction and ability to execute rapidly from high-level technical briefs and early specifications. Excellent visual and technical communication skills for bridging high-level concepts with engineering precision. Preferred Experience Background in propulsion systems, complex mechanical enclosures, aerospace hardware, or advanced manufacturing systems. Experience establishing initial technical baseline documentation and setup of secure, air-gapped CAD asset environments.
