Senior Lifestyle Product & CMF Designer | Multi-Category Consumer Brand

We are an established consumer products company looking for a senior multidisciplinary Product & CMF Designer to help develop the visual design language for an upcoming multi-category product collection. The project spans several types of physical consumer products and requires someone who can think beyond an individual item and create a cohesive design system across an entire collection. The selected designer will receive a detailed product brief, existing product information, references, and creative direction after selection. What We're Looking For We are particularly interested in a designer with strong experience in CMF (Color, Material & Finish) and an excellent understanding of contemporary lifestyle product design. You should be comfortable working across several of the following areas: CMF development and color strategy Hard goods / molded consumer products Soft goods and textiles Bags and accessories Apparel or fashion accessories Footwear Lifestyle and travel products Packaging Product graphics and branding applications You do not need to specialize in every category. What matters most is your ability to establish a strong design language and translate it consistently across different types of products. Scope of Work: Depending on your capabilities, responsibilities may include: 1. Developing overall collection design direction 2. Mood boards and visual research 3. Creating a master CMF system 4. Color palette and colorway development 5. Pantone specification and color matching 6. Material, texture and finish selection 7. Fabric, trim and hardware recommendations 8. Product color blocking 9. Surface graphics and branding applications 10. Packaging direction 11. Product visualization/rendering 12. Technical specification sheets 13. Factory-ready artwork 14. Communicating design intent to manufacturers 15. Reviewing prototypes/samples and recommending revisions The Designer We're Looking For: We're looking for someone with a sophisticated, contemporary design sensibility. Your portfolio should demonstrate that you understand how color, material, proportion, texture, detailing, graphics, and packaging work together to create a recognizable product family. Experience with consumer lifestyle, outdoor, travel, children's, fashion, footwear, accessories, or premium consumer brands is particularly relevant. We care much more about your portfolio and design thinking than your exact job title. Manufacturing Experience This is important. We are not looking solely for concept artwork or attractive renders. Designs will ultimately need to be manufactured. Experience producing or contributing to factory-ready documentation is strongly preferred, including: 1. Pantone references 2. Material specifications 3. Surface finishes 4. Fabric and trim specifications 5. Stitching/construction details 6. Hardware specifications 7. Artwork placement 8. Technical views 9. Vector artwork 10. Manufacturer comments and revisions Experience working with overseas manufacturers is a plus.
