Senior Mobile Product Designer (UX/UI)

We are looking for an exceptionally creative and innovative product thinker to review our mobile app, CHYS, and help us simplify, improve, and rethink the user experience. IMPORTANT: This is NOT a coding job. This is NOT a graphic design job. This is NOT a UI polishing job. The app is already built and available through TestFlight. Your role will be to use the app as a real user, identify what feels unnecessary, confusing, repetitive, or overly complex, and propose innovative alternatives through sketches, wireframes, mockups, and strategic recommendations. About CHYS CHYS is a pet-focused platform that combines: • Pet profiles • Lost & Found pets • AI pet matching • Fundraising • Tips • Business marketplaces • Pet wishlists and gifting • In-chat messaging • Social content Our goal is NOT to become another Instagram. We want to create a unique platform that genuinely helps pet owners, animal lovers, rescues, and pet businesses while keeping the experience simple, engaging, and fun. What We Need The platform has grown quickly and now includes many features. Because we build with AI-assisted development, complexity can create instability and unnecessary maintenance. We are looking for someone who can think differently and help us answer questions such as: • Which features should be simplified? • Which features should be merged? • Are separate Stories and Posts necessary? • How can engagement be increased without copying Instagram? • How can monetization be made more natural? • How can the user experience become faster and more intuitive? • What would make CHYS truly unique? Responsibilities • Review the live app through TestFlight • Test user journeys • Identify friction points and unnecessary complexity • Suggest feature reductions and simplifications • Create sketches, wireframes, concepts, and alternative flows • Challenge assumptions and existing structures • Present innovative ideas backed by user experience thinking • Focus on simplicity, engagement, monetization, and uniqueness Deliverables • Product audit • UX recommendations • Feature prioritization suggestions • Wireframes or mockups • Innovative concepts for future development • Clear explanations for each recommendation Ideal Candidate • Highly creative thinker • Experience with consumer mobile apps • Experience with social, marketplace, community, creator, or fintech products • Strong UX and product strategy background • Able to simplify complex products • Comfortable challenging existing ideas • Portfolio demonstrating innovation, not just visual design When Applying Please include: • Portfolio • Examples of apps you improved or simplified • One example where you removed features instead of adding them • Your hourly rate • Why you believe most social apps become too complicated • What makes a product memorable and addictive without becoming overwhelming We are not looking for someone to make CHYS look prettier. Project Type This is initially a short-term consulting project focused on reviewing the current CHYS app, identifying opportunities for simplification, and providing strategic product recommendations. However, for the right candidate, this can evolve into a long-term role as CHYS grows.
