Senior Platform Engineer for AWS Healthcare SaaS

We’re seeking to engage a senior engineer to help build and maintain a secure, scalable healthcare SaaS platform on AWS. We are looking for senior hands-on Platform/DevSecOps/SRE engineer for a fractional contractor role With opportunity for contract-to-hire or long-term fractional role. You will work on prioritized stabilization and maturity roadmap for AWS serverless infrastructure, Terraform and Serverless Framework, GitHub Actions, security, observability, incident response, backup/restore, disaster recovery, release reliability, and cloud cost. Required: deep production AWS, AWS Cost Optimization, Security Posture Improvement to continuously exceed SOC2 Type2 and HIPAA requirements, Observability cost effective infrastructure and process to improve all areas including customer support, strong English, and scheduled on-call/urgent incident support as needed; Terraform; GitHub Actions; serverless and ECS/Fargate; IAM least privilege, secrets/KMS, audit logging, WAF/security services; regulated SaaS or SOC 2/HIPAA-sensitive infrastructure; metrics/logs/traces/alerts; incident leadership and runbooks; backup/restore and DR; You’ll be working on CI/CD, monitoring, and security initiatives while supporting high availability and compliance. This role involves improving deployment processes, strengthening platform reliability, and collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver stable, secure services. Ideal candidates have experience with healthcare systems, cloud operations, and end-to-end platform ownership.
