Summary

Summary: We're a pre-seed, stealth-stage startup backed by Pear VC and Accel, building an AI-powered B2B software platform for enterprise operations teams. We need a design engineer who both designs and ships over a 2-4 week contract. You'll own UX/UI for complex workflows (dashboards, data-heavy tables, multi-step task flows) and implement your designs in React and Tailwind. Required design skills: Figma (components, auto-layout), interaction design, user flows and information architecture, wireframing and prototyping, design systems, visual design fundamentals (typography, spacing, hierarchy), and accessibility basics. Plus 5+ years in B2B or enterprise SaaS, strong React/Tailwind, and a portfolio showing complex workflow design. You'll work directly with founders in a fast, iterative loop, using your own laptop. We're in stealth; more detail shared upon mutual fit. Company Description: We're revolutionizing how the world's most sophisticated hardware gets sourced. Hardware manufacturers spend $10T+ annually on components, yet 75% of procurement teams still discover, select, and manage suppliers on email, spreadsheets, and WeChat. It takes 4-6 months to select one supplier for one custom part. Teams burn 4+ hours a day chasing acknowledgements, comparing bids, and reconciling invoices and POs. And when a procurement manager walks out the door, so does every bit of supplier history in their head. 30 years since the first procurement software was born, the most sophisticated hardware on earth is still sourced on tooling that makes the process slow, fragmented, and memoryless. We change that. We're building AI procurement teammates for mid-market hardware manufacturers across robotics, automotive, consumer electronics, aerospace, and energy — covering the full lifecycle, from initial design to mass production. They source, pulling in BOMs, drawings, and quotes in any format while keeping engineering changes in lockstep. They decide, normalizing every quote into a true side-by-side so buyers negotiate from their own data, not the supplier's opening number. And they execute, working every supplier account 24/7, flagging slips before they hit the line and matching invoices automatically. Every quote and negotiation makes the next one smarter, so your best buyer's ten years of supplier knowledge stays in the room for every decision. We connect to your existing email, ERP, and PLM in minutes, no rip-and-replace, and teams see 10x throughput, ~50% less admin time, and weeks faster time to hardware launch. We're a team from a top university who lived this problem firsthand, combining supply chain experience at leading hardware and consumer electronics companies with AI research from a top university AI lab. We're backed by top Silicon Valley investors, including leading early- and growth-stage venture funds and prominent angels (among them a well-known enterprise software founder and a former Fortune 500 CFO). Why us: Supply chain looks like a spreadsheet problem from the outside. It's actually a hard, messy data problem: a handwritten quote faxed from a supplier in Shenzhen has to be extracted, matched to a BOM that just changed for the third time this week, and traced with confidence back to the email thread it came from. It runs inside a live operational loop, where a wrong inference doesn't just look bad in a demo, it can stop a production line. It's agentic AI, multimodal extraction, and real-time reasoning applied to one of the messiest, highest-stakes data problems in the physical economy. We're a small, high-conviction team that moves fast and argues hard about the right things. We ship in days, not sprints, and we'd rather ship something rough to a design partner and learn from it than polish something in a vacuum. We're in person, we're all-in, and we're looking for people who want ownership over a real piece of the system on day one, not a slice of a roadmap someone else wrote. If you want to work on a problem that's been broken for thirty years and is finally solvable, we'd love to talk.
