Senior Product Designer (UX/UI) for Digital Legacy Platform — Figma + Figma Make
Only freelancers located in the U.S. may apply.U.S. located freelancers only
ABOUT THE PROJECT We're a US-based product team building a platform for family storytelling, legacy preservation, and time-delayed message and gift delivery. Our audience skews older and affluent, often non-technical, and the emotional stakes are high. People are recording things they want their grandchildren to see. The product is built and functional. The functionality works. What it doesn't do yet is feel considered. That's the job. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING This is product design, not visual polish. The hard problems here are structural: Access and permission levels, controlling who can see which stories Multi-user account linking and family connections Managed and minor accounts Scheduled future delivery of messages and gifts If you've designed systems where who-can-see-what is the core complexity, and you've made that legible to non-technical users, we want to talk to you. DELIVERABLES Redesigned flows in Figma, working directly with product lead and principal Clickable prototypes in Figma Make that a non-designer can walk through unassisted Dev-ready specifications: all states including empty, loading, error, and permission-denied, plus component definitions and responsive behavior HOW WE WORK You'll work directly with our product lead and principal. Design is reviewed and approved internally before it goes to development. Our front-end developer builds from your specs rather than shaping the UX, so we need documentation complete enough to stand on its own. REQUIREMENTS Based in the United States or Canada Native English fluency, working live with US stakeholders Overlap with US Eastern business hours Demonstrated Figma Make work. Share a live link, not screenshots. Portfolio showing shipped consumer software with real flow complexity ENGAGEMENT We start with a paid trial project, fixed price, roughly 8 to 10 hours, one week turnaround. Strong fit moves to an ongoing part-time retainer for 3 to 6 months, likely longer. TO APPLY Send one case study where you designed a permissions, access-control, or multi-user system. Tell us what constraint you were working against and what you traded away. Include a link to a clickable prototype you've built, Figma Make preferred. If you haven't used Figma Make yet, say so and tell us what you've used instead.
