Senior Product Designer for Consumer AI Media Platform We are looking for a senior product designer to redesign the core experience of a consumer AI media platform. The product already supports video, images, voice, chat, personalized content, creator profiles, and paid experiences. The technology and functionality are in place, but the current experience does not present them clearly or help users discover value quickly enough. This is not a branding project or a simple visual refresh. We need someone who can rethink the product structure, interaction design, content discovery, and monetization flows to create a simpler, more dynamic, and higher-converting consumer experience. The Challenge The current product over-indexes on chat and does not adequately showcase its broader content and functionality. Important features are difficult to discover, the experience can feel static, and users are sometimes asked to take several actions before understanding the product’s value. We want the platform to feel more like a modern, video-first consumer media product and less like a collection of separate AI features. What You Will Do You will review the existing product and redesign its highest-leverage user journeys. The work will include: * Auditing the current product experience * Reviewing relevant competitors and consumer design patterns * Improving the information architecture and navigation * Making video and premium content easier to discover * Simplifying the journey from landing to engagement * Improving creator profiles and content browsing * Connecting video, images, voice, and chat into one coherent experience * Designing clearer purchase, paywall, and upgrade moments * Improving the experience for returning users * Creating a polished, mobile-first interface * Preparing designs for direct engineering implementation We want to preserve the functionality that already works while significantly improving how it is packaged, presented, and experienced. Initial Scope The initial project will focus on: 1. Landing and first-session experience 2. Home, discovery, or personalized feed 3. Creator profile and content browsing 4. Video and premium content experience 5. Transitions between content, chat, voice, and images 6. Purchase and upgrade flows 7. Returning-user experience The final scope will be agreed upon after the initial audit. Deliverables Expected deliverables include: * UX and product audit * Competitive and pattern analysis * Recommended user journeys and information architecture * Wireframes for the core experience * High-fidelity mobile-first designs * Clickable prototype * Interaction and motion recommendations * Reusable components or extensions to the existing design system * Organized Figma files for engineering handoff * One structured revision cycle Ideal Candidate You should have: * 5 or more years of product design experience * A strong portfolio of polished consumer products * Deep experience with mobile-first interaction design * Experience designing feeds, video products, content discovery, subscriptions, marketplaces, or entertainment applications * Experience improving activation, engagement, conversion, or retention * Strong product judgment, not only visual design skills * The ability to simplify complex functionality without removing its value * Strong Figma, prototyping, and design-system skills * Experience working directly with founders, product leaders, growth teams, and engineers * The ability to move quickly and work with an existing product rather than starting from zero Experience with creator platforms, dating applications, gaming, social products, streaming, subscriptions, virtual currency, or high-conversion consumer applications is especially relevant. This role is not a fit for designers whose portfolios are primarily focused on branding, marketing websites, or B2B dashboards. What Success Looks Like At the end of the engagement, we should have: * A clearer and more compelling first-time user experience * A dynamic, video-first discovery experience * More visible and understandable product functionality * Fewer steps between arrival, content consumption, and purchase * Stronger paths from browsing to engagement and monetization * Designs that can be handed directly to engineering * A foundation that can later be tested and optimized using product data Project Details * Project-based engagement * Fixed-price budget of approximately $5,000 * Expected duration of 2 to 4 weeks * Potential for additional work after the initial project * Remote and asynchronous work is acceptable * Direct access to the founder, product team, growth team, and engineers If your normal project scope exceeds the stated budget, propose a focused first phase that delivers the highest-leverage screens and user journeys within the available budget.
