Senior Protocol Engineer (Financial Systems)

We are building a next-generation financial infrastructure platform that enables digital asset-based payment and settlement systems. The platform is currently in the MVP stage and focuses on building the core infrastructure for: - Transaction processing systems - Account and balance management - Authorization, capture, and settlement workflows - Ledger and reconciliation systems - Secure financial data integrity layers - API infrastructure for financial operations We are now looking for an experienced Protocol Engineer to help design and implement the core execution and settlement layer of the system. What You’ll Work On You will be responsible for building and designing the core execution logic of the platform, including: - Smart contract architecture and implementation - On-chain and off-chain interaction design - Transaction lifecycle logic (initiation → validation → execution → settlement) - State management for financial transactions - Secure asset transfer mechanisms - Event-driven contract interactions - System integrity and consistency guarantees - Integration with backend financial systems Responsibilities - Design and implement secure protocol-level logic - Develop and audit smart contract systems - Define transaction and state transition models - Work with backend engineers on system integration - Ensure correctness, security, and immutability of financial flows - Optimize gas, performance, and execution efficiency - Participate in architecture design discussions - Review and improve existing MVP system design Required Skills - Strong experience in Solidity or similar contract languages - Experience designing smart contract systems - Understanding of transaction lifecycle systems - Experience with distributed or financial systems - Strong knowledge of state machines and consistency models - Experience with testing and security practices Preferred Experience - DeFi protocols or financial protocol design - Ledger or settlement systems - Payment or transaction processing systems - Event-driven architecture - Node.js or backend integration experience - Ethereum or EVM-based systems - Security auditing experience
