Project Summary Seeking an experienced researcher to reconstruct and document the public media footprint of a New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author from 2016 to the present. This is a research and documentation project. It is NOT a Wikipedia-writing project, SEO project, or publicity project. The objective is to identify, verify, organize, and document independent media coverage and public appearances from 2016–present. The final deliverable should serve as a definitive long-term reference archive of the author's media history. Fixed Budget: $1,000 --- Ideal Background Strong preference for candidates with experience in: - Journalism - Investigative research - Media monitoring - Public relations research - Archival research - Academic research - Library or information sciences Experience working with media databases, newspaper archives, broadcast archives, transcript services, and historical media records is highly desirable. --- Research Scope Identify and document, where reasonably discoverable: Print & Digital Media - Newspaper articles - Magazine articles - Feature profiles - Interviews - Book reviews - Independent commentary - Expert citations and quotations Television - National television appearances - Local television appearances - International television appearances - Broadcast segments - Television transcripts - Archived television references Radio - Nationally syndicated radio appearances - SiriusXM appearances - Regional radio appearances - Radio transcripts and archives Publishing & Industry - Bestseller-list coverage - Publishing industry coverage - Trade publication coverage - Significant publishing milestones Long-Form Media - Major podcast appearances - Long-form interviews - Significant digital features The focus is on independent third-party coverage rather than promotional materials. --- Deliverables 1. Master Source Database For every source located: - Date - Outlet - Media type - Title - Link or archive reference - Brief description - Source category - Assessment of significance (Mention / Interview / Review / Feature / Profile) - Notes 2. Supporting Archive Where available: - PDFs - Screenshots - Transcript references - Archive links - Supporting documentation 3. Executive Summary A concise report identifying: - Most significant media coverage - Most significant interviews and appearances - Strongest independent sources - Patterns of coverage over time - Key sources suitable for future reference and citation - Gaps requiring further investigation --- Resources Provided The selected researcher will receive: - Author name - Known media appearances - Known publication milestones - Known media leads - Additional starting references --- Success Criteria The selected researcher will likely be asked to investigate television, radio, newspaper, magazine, podcast, publishing, and archival sources that may no longer be easily discoverable through standard web search. The goal is not volume. The goal is an accurate, well-organized, verifiable media archive that can serve as a long-term reference asset. Quality, verification, and completeness are more important than the number of links collected. --- When Applying Please include: 1. Relevant experience. 2. Similar archival, media, or investigative research projects completed. 3. Research tools and databases you use. 4. Your proposed methodology for reconstructing a decade of media activity. Candidates with demonstrated experience locating difficult-to-find archival or media sources are strongly preferred. Please do not send generic proposals. This project is best suited to researchers who enjoy archival, investigative, historical, or media research and are comfortable working beyond standard web searches.
