The Role You own SEO end to end for a portfolio of high-revenue plaintiff law firm clients. Not a channel coordinator, not a report-builder. You run the strategy, do the work, and sit on the call defending it. This is a client-facing seat. You will be on camera with founders, CMOs, and CEOs who spend real money and expect real answers. You will present under the Level Seven brand across every account, with a Level Seven email and a Level Seven title. Clients know you as part of our team, not as an outside contractor. What You'll Actually Do Technical SEO Full site audits: crawl budget, indexation, log file analysis, JS rendering, canonicalization, redirect chains Core Web Vitals diagnosis and remediation specs handed to dev in language they can execute Structured data and schema implementation (LegalService, Attorney, FAQ, Review, LocalBusiness) Site migrations without traffic loss — planning, mapping, QA, post-launch monitoring Multilingual and hreflang setups for bilingual firms On-Page Keyword research and topical mapping across practice areas and geographies Content briefs writers can execute against without a second meeting Internal linking architecture, cannibalization cleanup, pruning and consolidation Title, meta, header, and entity optimization at scale Landing page SEO review before launch, not after Off-Page Link acquisition strategy: digital PR, HARO, resource placements, sponsorships, partnerships Legal directory and citation management Backlink profile audits and toxic link cleanup Competitive gap analysis against firms with 10x the domain authority Local Google Business Profile management across multi-location firms Local pack strategy by city and practice area Review velocity programs and reputation coordination Local Services Ads interplay with organic Measurement GSC, GA4, Ahrefs or Semrush, Screaming Frog, Looker Studio Reporting that connects rankings to signed cases, not just sessions Forecasting and scenario modeling when a client asks "what do we get for another $20K a month" Client-Facing Requirements This is where most SEO people wash out. Read it twice. Weekly client calls. You present your own section. You do not hand slides to an account manager and disappear. You translate. A CEO does not care about crawl depth. You explain why it costs them cases. You hold your position. Our clients are sophisticated, opinionated, and will push back hard. You need conviction backed by data and the composure to disagree without getting defensive. You never surprise us. Bad news travels to the internal team first, immediately. White-label discipline. Level Seven brand, Level Seven voice, Level Seven deliverable standards on every account. No personal branding in client channels. Turnaround Expectations Same-day acknowledgment on every client request, no exceptions 24 to 48 hours on standard analysis, audits, and recommendations Same-day on anything ranking-critical or crisis-adjacent (deindexing, traffic drops, penalty signals) Deliverables land in Drive 24 hours before the meeting they support If a two-day turnaround sounds aggressive, this is not the right seat. What You Bring Required 5+ years doing SEO hands-on, at least 2 in an agency or multi-client environment Demonstrated technical depth — you have fixed real crawl and rendering problems, not just flagged them in an audit template Proven link acquisition results you can walk us through, campaign by campaign Local SEO fluency in competitive multi-location markets Client-facing experience with executive stakeholders Screaming Frog, GSC, GA4, Ahrefs or Semrush at expert level Written communication that does not need editing before a client sees it Strongly Preferred Legal vertical experience, especially plaintiff or personal injury Spanish fluency Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and enough JS to talk to developers as a peer Experience with paid and organic working together rather than in silos Nice to Have Digital PR relationships SQL, Python, or scripting for data pulls and automation Programmatic SEO at scale What Disqualifies You Audits generated from a tool and sent without interpretation "It takes 6 to 12 months" as an answer to every question Blackhat link buying or PBNs Going quiet when a client is unhappy Needing three rounds of internal review before anything is client-ready Your resume Three case studies. Site, starting position, what you diagnosed, what you did, what changed, and how long it took. Numbers required. A 200-word answer: A client's organic traffic dropped 40% in two weeks. Walk us through your first 48 hours. Optional: a link to something you built, wrote, or fixed that you are proud of We move fast. Strong applicants hear from us within 5 business days. 3 applicants will move forward to start with a (paid) audit of the client's site and a plan for the next 6 months. We'll decide who we'd like to move forward with from there.
