Senior AI Systems Engineer (LLM Agents, Python Automation, Engineering Software Integration)

Overview We are an early-stage deep-tech startup building next-generation RF semiconductor technology for wireless communications, satellite systems, phased-array antennas, and advanced sensing applications. Our team includes experienced semiconductor industry veterans and academic researchers. We are now looking for a senior engineer to help build an AI-powered design automation platform that integrates with industry-standard semiconductor design tools and assists engineers throughout the IC design lifecycle. This is not a chatbot project. We are building a production-grade AI system that can automate engineering workflows, interact with proprietary software, execute simulations, capture institutional knowledge, and progressively become a valuable engineering assistant. Project Goal Our long-term vision is to create an AI-assisted semiconductor design platform that can: - Automate repetitive engineering tasks - Execute simulation workflows - Interact with proprietary EDA software - Analyze simulation results - Capture engineering knowledge - Assist designers in making design decisions - Improve productivity across the chip development lifecycle The initial focus will be building an MVP around workflow automation and software integration. Phase 1: Workflow Automation MVP The first phase involves creating an orchestration layer around existing engineering software. Responsibilities include: - Integrating with Keysight ADS (Advanced Design System) - Building Python-based workflow automation services - Automating simulation execution and data collection - Creating structured input/output pipelines - Designing APIs and orchestration services - Developing agent-driven workflow execution - Building logging, monitoring, and audit capabilities - Creating repeatable engineering automation workflows Phase 2: Engineering Knowledge Platform Future work may include: - Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) - Knowledge graph development - Engineering design knowledge capture - Simulation result indexing - Agent memory systems - Design recommendation engines - Multi-agent engineering workflows Required Qualifications - 5+ years of professional software engineering experience - Strong Python development experience - Experience building AI agent systems or workflow automation platforms - Experience integrating third-party APIs and proprietary software - Familiarity with LLM orchestration frameworks - Strong understanding of software architecture and system design - Experience designing scalable backend services - Ability to work independently in an early-stage startup environment Preferred Experience One or more of the following: - LangGraph - LangChain - OpenAI API - Anthropic API - MCP (Model Context Protocol) - RAG architectures - Vector databases - Workflow orchestration systems - Scientific computing - Simulation software integration - CAD/EDA automation - Engineering software platforms Nice to Have Experience in any of the following areas is a significant advantage: - RF engineering - Semiconductor design - Electronic Design Automation (EDA) - Keysight ADS - Microwave engineering - Antenna systems - Phased-array technologies - Signal processing - Scientific simulation environments Domain expertise is helpful but not required. Strong AI systems and software architecture skills are the primary focus.
