Senior 3D Technical Artist Real-Time Character Pipeline (Blender → glTF → three.js) Consulting About the role We're a small product team building a real-time AI companion web app featuring animated 3D characters. Our characters and animations run in three.js, authored in Blender. We have a working foundation — a shared character skeleton and a library of animations. We're looking for A talented senior 3D technical artist to advise us on how to diagnose, standardize, optimize, and document our character and animation pipeline so it stays modular, scalable, and optimized for web as the library grows. This is a consulting role - you guide, our team builds. Diagnosing issues includes avatar and animation consistency, and helping us get a reliable system in place. You should be comfortable hopping on calls with the team, reviewing our files, and sharing clear documentation. What you'll do - Hop on consultation calls with the team (mainly) - Help us diagnose our current animation and avatar issues and identify root causes - Guide us in standardizing the Blender → glTF → three.js pipeline (rig, consistent skeletons and morph targets, modular assets) - Advise on automating and validating exports so bad files never reach the app - Share documentation so the team can add characters and animations confidently About you - Strong glTF / three.js experience (AnimationMixer, skinned meshes, morph targets) and Blender scripting - Strong Blender experience - Has shipped real-time avatar work and character systems - Game development experience preferred
