Senior Technical SEO Consultant (Google Recovery Specialist)

Nationwide junk removal and commercial waste solutions company serving residential and enterprise customers across the United States. We are looking for an experienced Technical SEO Consultant to perform a comprehensive forensic audit of our website after a significant organic traffic decline that began in mid-2025. This is not a typical SEO engagement. We are looking for someone who can identify the root cause of a site-wide ranking loss and provide a prioritized recovery plan based on data—not assumptions. Project Objective Determine why our website experienced a significant loss in Google organic traffic and rankings and develop a detailed roadmap to restore long-term organic visibility. - Responsibilities * Conduct a comprehensive technical SEO audit of our website. * Analyze historical Google Search Console and Google Analytics data to identify the cause of our traffic decline. * Determine whether the site was impacted by a Google Core Update, Helpful Content Update, or other algorithm changes. * Audit crawlability, indexation, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonical tags, redirects, structured data, and Core Web Vitals. * Perform a full content audit and classify every major page as **Keep, Improve, Merge, Redirect, or Remove**. * Identify duplicate, thin, outdated, or low-value content that may be hurting organic rankings. * Review location and service pages for originality, quality, and local SEO best practices. * Evaluate internal linking and site architecture to improve crawlability and topical authority. * Audit backlinks to identify toxic links, lost backlinks, and new link-building opportunities. * Develop a prioritized action plan with recommendations based on expected SEO impact. * Provide clear documentation and implementation guidance for our internal team or developers. * Work with our team to monitor progress and measure recovery using Google Search Console and Google Analytics.
