Senior Technical Writer for EU Project Report

We are seeking an experienced technical writer to prepare a high-quality Inception and Early Implementation Report for a European Union-funded international development programme in East Africa. The project focuses on improving labor conditions, responsible business conduct, occupational safety and health, child labour prevention, social dialogue, and sustainable agricultural value chains. The assignment involves consolidating multiple existing documents into a professional report suitable for submission to an international donor. This is not a research assignment; all technical inputs and supporting documentation will be provided. Scope of Work The consultant will: Review approximately 10–15 project documents. Consolidate technical reports, meeting minutes, work plans and project documentation into a single coherent report. Draft a professional Inception and Early Implementation Report (approximately 25–35 pages). Present project start-up, governance arrangements, implementation progress, achievements, challenges, lessons learned, risks and next steps. Ensure consistency, logical flow and a results-oriented narrative. Eliminate duplication across source documents. Edit and proofread the final report. Recommend tables, graphics and infographics where appropriate. Documents Provided The selected consultant will receive: Project document Annual work plan Governance meeting minutes Regional consultation reports Technical analytical reports Stakeholder mapping Communication materials Progress updates Supporting background documentation Deliverables Draft Inception and Early Implementation Report Revised version following comments Final publication-ready Word document Executive Summary (2–3 pages) Required Qualifications The ideal consultant should have: Demonstrated experience writing reports for European Union-funded programmes or other international development donors. Excellent technical writing, editing and analytical skills. Experience synthesizing multiple technical documents into concise strategic reports. Strong understanding of results-based management, logical frameworks and donor reporting. Excellent written English. Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: Labour and employment Occupational safety and health Responsible business conduct Human rights due diligence Agricultural value chains Coffee or horticulture sectors Governance and institutional strengthening Timeline Immediate start First draft within 7–10 days Final report within 14 days To Apply Please include: A brief description of your experience preparing donor reports.
