Senior QA Tester — Travel Loyalty Platform

We're building a loyalty optimization platform for frequent flyers. You'll be the critical eye ensuring every feature works flawlessly in continuous deployment. You'll own: UI/UX Testing — Full regression testing, new features, and UX issue identification across web AI Outcome Validation — Test AI-driven recommendations for accuracy and contextual soundness Proactive Testing — Suggest test cases, anticipate edge cases, flag UX friction before users find it Detailed Bug Investigation — Report with full context and root cause analysis where possible You're a Good Fit If You Have: Experience (Required) 5+ years manual QA testing in continuous deployment environments Proven track record testing marketplace, comparison, or fintech products Expert Jira documentation and proactive communication Mindset: You catch problems others miss. You ask "what if?" before production. Technical Chops Comfortable reading API responses and basic test data Experience testing AI-driven or recommendation features Can inspect elements and check network calls via browser tools Domain Knowledge (Highly Preferred) Experience with travel, loyalty, or finance platforms Understand airline loyalty tiers, earning mechanics, alliances Familiarity with point systems, status tracking, redemption strategy If you lack domain experience: You'll need to self-study before we proceed. We expect candidates without this background to spend 2-3 hours researching airline loyalty basics, status tiers, and point mechanics. This shows genuine interest and initiative. The Mindset Critical thinker — "Does this actually make sense for the user?" is your default question Proactive — You anticipate gaps, suggest test cases, spot UX problems Self-directed — Async communication, you own your testing strategy Detail-oriented — Bug reports are actionable; no follow-up questions needed What You'll Do Review PRs and new features in continuous deployment Execute regression testing on critical user journeys (account setup, program connections, flight comparisons, status tracking, redemptions) Test AI recommendations for logic and accuracy Validate edge cases and error handling Suggest test cases and flag UX friction proactively File detailed Jira tickets with full context and investigation Communication: Daily/bi-daily async Slack check-ins with PM and dev team. No meetings. Before Interview Knowledge check — 5 questions on airline loyalty basics (tests ability to learn the domain) Sample bug report — Write a detailed Jira-style report for a given scenario Test cases — Propose 8-10 test cases for a feature description Important: Candidates without travel/loyalty background should come prepared having researched the basics. Your answers to the knowledge check will reflect whether you took time to understand the domain.
