Summary

We are seeking a Senior WordPress Software Engineer with extensive experience in backend architecture, database optimization, and high-performance plugin development. We have a large, legacy WooCommerce-compatible product customization plugin that has undergone heavy local modifications. We now need a dedicated engineer to refactor the codebase, optimize its performance, and prepare it as a clean, independent, white-labeled solution for commercial deployment. Key Objectives & Responsibilities Codebase Optimization & Refactoring: Analyze the existing PHP architecture to implement global namespacing and standard prefixing across all classes, functions, and hooks to ensure zero conflicts with other plugins. Database Restructuring: Review the current custom SQL table structures, optimize schema performance, and update internal database queries via $wpdb to utilize a brand-new, unique table prefix. White-Labeling & UI Customization: Standardize the admin panel UI, update text domains for translation readiness, and ensure all asset paths and style structures strictly reflect our brand. Code Stripping & Performance Tuning: Clean up bloated legacy code, remove unused functions, optimize JavaScript/CSS asset loading, and ensure a highly efficient, minimum-code execution footprint. Ecosystem Compatibility: Ensure seamless integration with modern WordPress Core and WooCommerce standards. Required Skills & Experience: Advanced Object-Oriented PHP (OOP) and WordPress Plugin APIs. Deep knowledge of MySQL, relational database design, and secure SQL query optimization. Prior experience preparing plugins for commercial distribution or mass deployment. Strict adherence to WordPress Coding Standards and clean code documentation. Strong version control hygiene using Git.
