Set Up Open-Source MCP Integration for Claude Desktop, Outlook, and Local Files I am looking for an experienced developer or IT professional to configure an open-source MCP server integration on my Windows computer. Project Goal I want to use Claude Desktop as a daily assistant that can securely access: My personal Microsoft Outlook email My Microsoft 365 files and folders Local files stored on my Windows computer I want Claude to be able to work with both my files and email from the same interface rather than using separate, disconnected assistants. Important Requirements The solution must use open-source software It must work with a personal Microsoft account, not only a work or school Microsoft 365 account No ongoing paid MCP subscription No custom system that requires the contractor to continue hosting or maintaining it All credentials and access tokens must remain under my control The setup must follow secure Microsoft authentication practices The contractor must not retain access to my email, files, passwords, tokens, or computer after completion Scope of Work The contractor will: Confirm whether the proposed MCP server supports personal Outlook and Microsoft 365 accounts. Install and configure the necessary open-source MCP server or servers. Connect the MCP integration to Claude Desktop. Configure Microsoft authentication and required API permissions. Enable Claude to securely search, read, organize, and assist with my Outlook email. Enable Claude to access and work with selected Microsoft 365 and local computer files. Test the complete setup to confirm the email and file tools work together inside Claude Desktop. Limit permissions to only what is reasonably required. Explain any actions Claude should not be permitted to perform automatically. Provide written instructions showing how to: Start and stop the MCP server Reconnect the Microsoft account Update the software Revoke access Troubleshoot common issues Completely uninstall the integration Preferred Setup I would prefer a solution using established open-source projects rather than a completely custom MCP server. Any recommended project should have publicly available source code and documentation. Before beginning installation, please send me: The name and link to the proposed open-source MCP project Confirmation that it supports personal Microsoft accounts A list of the permissions it will request Any limitations related to Outlook, Microsoft Graph, OneDrive, or local file access Any costs that could still apply, including Microsoft Azure or API costs Contractor Qualifications Please apply only if you have experience with several of the following: Model Context Protocol, or MCP Claude Desktop Microsoft Graph API Microsoft OAuth authentication Outlook and OneDrive integrations Windows configuration Node.js, Python, or Docker Secure credential and token management Experience configuring an MCP server for a personal Microsoft account is strongly preferred. Deliverables The project will be considered complete when: Claude Desktop can access the approved Outlook mailbox functions Claude Desktop can access the approved Microsoft 365 and local files Both connections are available within the same Claude Desktop environment The setup continues working after the computer is restarted I receive clear documentation and a walkthrough I know how to revoke all access without assistance
