Title: Sewing Pattern Tester — Sew Test Garments + Photo Reports (Ongoing) ABOUT THE JOB We are a US fashion-tech startup building software that creates custom-fit sewing patterns from body measurements. Before launch, we need experienced sewers to test the patterns. Phase 1 covers six simple garments: gathered skirt, A-line skirt, circle skirt, elastic-waist shorts, boxy top, cropped top. Sewers who do good work in Phase 1 continue to harder garments (dresses, shirts, trousers, jackets) at higher pay per test. Site access details are shared after hiring. WHAT YOU WILL DO (each test) 1. Generate a pattern on our private web app using your own body measurements (we provide the account and credits — free for you) 2. Print it at home at 100% scale on US Letter paper and check the printed test square with a ruler 3. Tape the pages, cut cheap fabric, and sew a quick test garment (1-2 evenings of work for Phase 1 items) 4. Measure the finished garment with a tape measure 5. Fill out our short online report form: exact numbers for how the fit was off (example: "waist +2 cm"), what went wrong and where, and 4 photos uploaded in the form (taped pattern, pieces on fabric, finished garment front, finished garment back) REQUIRED SKILLS - Strong garment sewing experience — you have sewn clothing from commercial patterns before and know grainlines, seam allowances, and elastic casings - Careful measuring — we need numbers from a tape measure, not guesses - Basic written English for short reports - Clear smartphone photos in good light REQUIRED EQUIPMENT - Sewing machine and basic notions (elastic, thread, pins) - Home printer + US Letter (8.5 x 11) paper, tape, scissors - Tape measure and ruler - Cheap test fabric (muslin, old sheets, or low-cost cotton) PAY $[XX] fixed per completed test report (your fabric cost is included in this). Phase 1 = 3 reports to start. Higher rates per test for harder garments in later phases. This is ongoing work — we have 53 garment types to test and re-test. TO APPLY, PLEASE INCLUDE 1. One or two photos of clothing you have sewn 2. How many years you have sewn garments, and what you make 3. Confirm you have: a printer with Letter paper, a sewing machine, and a source of cheap fabric 4. Do you sew in inches or centimeters? (We need both — centimeter sewers are especially welcome) 5. How many tests you could finish per week?
