# Shopify Conversion & Checkout Specialist — Chalkd Apparel **Type:** Contract, short-term / project-based (urgent) **Location:** Remote **Start:** Immediately ## The Situation We're running paid social ads that are driving traffic and a healthy ~10% add-to-cart rate — but converting to almost zero completed purchases. We need someone to diagnose and fix this fast. This is not a branding or design engagement. This is "find out why people who want to buy can't, and fix it." ## What We Need Done **Week 1 — Diagnose:** - Audit the full path from ad click → PDP → cart → checkout → payment → confirmation, on both mobile and desktop - Place real test orders with real payment methods to find where the flow breaks - Reconcile Shopify order data against ad platform reported conversions to rule out a tracking/pixel problem vs. an actual sales problem - Check payment gateway status (test mode, holds, declines) - Audit all discount code / promo code logic — confirm codes work, and match what's actually advertised sitewide - Review presale/backorder/inventory setup for anything that could be blocking or confusing checkout - Check shipping zone restrictions against actual ad targeting **Week 2+ — Fix:** - Resolve whatever technical or configuration issues are found - Fix inconsistent discount/promo messaging across the site so it's accurate everywhere - Clean up checkout friction points (shipping cost display, presale clarity, mobile checkout bugs) - Document what was broken and what was changed, in plain language, so we understand what happened ## What We're Looking For - Deep hands-on Shopify experience — themes, apps, checkout configuration, discount/promo setup, not just storefront design - Comfortable auditing analytics/tracking setups (Meta Pixel, Shopify order data, GA if applicable) to find discrepancies - Experience diagnosing conversion funnel breakdowns, not just improving them incrementally - Can work fast and communicate findings clearly and immediately — we're actively spending ad budget while this is unresolved - Bonus: experience with Judge.me, discount/promo apps, or other common Shopify app-conflict troubleshooting ## To Apply Tell us: if you were handed a Shopify store with 10% add-to-cart and 0% purchase conversion, what are the first three things you'd check, in order?
