Shopify UI/UX Designer & Developer: One-Page Store for High-Performance 3D Printing Filament
Worldwide
Job Description: We are looking for an exceptional, tech-forward Shopify UI/UX Designer and Developer to completely rebuild and relaunch our e-commerce presence. We are shifting from a traditional corporate catalog to an extremely lean, high-converting Single-Product, One-Page Scrolling Shop focusing exclusively on our technical, alkali-soluble support filament: Xioneer VXL 111. Our business model is radically simplified to minimize inventory overhead and operational complexity. The entire customer journey must be linear, mobile-first, highly visual, and optimized for frictionless checkouts. 1. The Core Product & Ecosystem Our store will only sell two physical items: • The Hero Product: Xioneer VXL 111 Filament. This is a premium, moisture-resistant acrylic copolymer support material used to print complex 3D structures alongside advanced materials like ABS, ASA, PA, PC, PEEK, and TPU. It is sold in only two variants: 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm on 500g spools. • The Companion Upsell: The "VXL-Go DIY Hardware Kit". This is a purely mechanical, non-electrical accessory pack designed to help users turn a standard kitchen Sous-Vide stick or a digital food canner ("Wecktopf") into a professional support-removal station. It contains a custom stainless steel hanger basket, a Sous-Vide mounting bracket, a siphon hand pump, and safety gear (gloves, goggles, tongs). What We DO NOT Sell (Our Lean UX Story): • No Chemicals: VXL 111 dissolves in a mild alkaline solution rather than pure water. We do not sell the chemical. Instead, we guide customers to buy cheap, standard household "Washing Soda" (Sodium Carbonate, Na2CO3) locally at their nearest supermarket or drug store for under $2 • No Electronics: We do not sell the heating or circulation devices. Instead, we provide curated Amazon Affiliate links for standard Sous-Vide sticks and electric Weckpots. 2. Key Web Design & Functional Requirements We want a beautifully animated, single-page application (SPA) layout on Shopify. As the user scrolls or swipes down, they must be guided through a highly engaging, linear story with the following sections: • Section 1: The Hero Hook (Above the Fold): A clean, high-end 3D visual of the VXL 111 spool. A clear value proposition focusing on moisture resistance (unlike PVA/BVOH, which absorb water and clog nozzles), followed by an immediate Express Checkout CTA. • Section 2: The "White Powder Detective" Viral Video Section: We are producing a humorous film-noir style video series comparing 4 common white powders: 1. Baking Soda (NaHCO3 - only for muffins) 2. Washing Soda (Na2CO3 - perfect for VXL 111) 3. Caustic Soda (NaOH - dangerous drain cleaner) 4. Pool pH-Minus (NaHSO4 - hazardous pool acid) [cite: 5, poolpowershop-forum-8]. The web design must display this video in a prominent loop, featuring clean typography and bold visual icons (Muffin, Washing Machine, Skull, Swimming Pool) to ensure 100% "silent-viewing" comprehension. • Section 3: The Global "Soda Dictionary" (Interactive Lookup Widget): A highly interactive, simple widget where customers select their country (e.g., Germany, USA, China) and instantly see the exact consumer brand name and logo of the washing soda they can buy locally (e.g., Holste Waschsoda in Germany, Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda in the US, or 纯碱/苏打 in China). • Section 4: "The $100 Professional Wash Station" (The DIY Kit Upsell): An elegant, IKEA-style visual step-by-step assembly guide showing how to pair our mechanical "VXL-Go DIY Kit" (stainless steel basket, bracket, pump) with a cheap, locally sourced Sous-Vide stick or Weckpot. This section will feature Amazon affiliate links for the electronics and a direct buy button for our VXL-Go Kit. • Section 5: Technical Specifications & Compatibility Matrix: A clean, searchable grid showing printing parameters (Print Temp: 230 - 250 °C, Bed: 90 - 110 °C) and compatibility with advanced model plastics (ABS, ASA, PA, PC, PEEK, TPU, etc.). • Section 6: Frictionless 1-Click Checkout (Footer area): A direct configuration and express payment panel. Only two choices: Select Filament Diameter (1.75 mm or 2.85 mm) - Click Express Buy (Apple Pay, Shop Pay, PayPal). No cart pages, no unnecessary steps. 3. Deliverables • Phase 1 (UX/UI): Figma wireframes and high-fidelity interactive prototypes showcasing smooth vertical transitions, animations, and the interactive Soda Dictionary widget. • Phase 2 (Shopify Development): Custom Liquid/JS coding to implement the layout on Shopify. The page must load lightning-fast (95+ mobile performance score) and be fully responsive. • Phase 3 (Integrations): Setup of direct payment routing, tax-compliance automation tools, and simple shipping rate mapping for our bicoastal/global 3PL partners. 4. Required Experience • Proven track record of designing and building high-converting, single-product Shopify landing pages. • Master-level expertise in Figma and custom Shopify theme development. • Ability to translate technical, scientific, or hardware concepts into clean, accessible, and beautiful consumer-facing interfaces. • Please attach 2-3 examples of custom-coded Shopify landing pages you have built (specifically single-product or headless commerce stores).
