Shopify Developer (Front-End / Theme)
Worldwide
## About the role We're looking for a Shopify developer to build and maintain the front end of our store. You'll own the code side of our storefront — landing pages, the main site, collection pages, and product pages — turning briefs and mockups into clean, responsive, on-brand pages that work. Your job is to make pages look right, load fast, and behave correctly across devices. This is a focused coding role, but use of AI tools like Claude for quick coding work is supported. ## What you'll do - Build and modify landing pages, the main site, collection pages, and product pages in Shopify - Write and maintain clean CSS, HTML, and Liquid within our theme - Implement designs and layouts accurately from briefs, mockups, or supplied assets - Create and adjust theme sections, blocks, and settings so pages are easy to update - Ensure everything is responsive and displays correctly across browsers and devices - Troubleshoot layout, rendering, and theme issues as they arise - Keep the codebase tidy, consistent, and maintainable ## Who you are - Solid hands-on experience with **Shopify theme development** (Liquid, HTML, CSS) - Comfortable working directly in the theme code and the Shopify admin - Good grasp of responsive design and cross-browser behaviour - Able to take a design or brief and translate it into working pages without much hand-holding - Detail-oriented — you notice when spacing, alignment, or breakpoints are off, and you fix them - Self-directed and reliable in a remote, part-time setup ## Nice to have - Familiarity with Shopify's Online Store 2.0 (sections everywhere, metafields, JSON templates) - Basic JavaScript for interactivity and small custom behaviours - Experience with Shopify's Dawn theme or custom/premium themes - An eye for performance (page speed, image handling, minimizing bloat) - Comfort using AI coding assistants (e.g. Claude) to speed up and clean up your work ## Logistics - Part-time, **20–30 hours per week**, with flexible scheduling - Based in **Europe or a European-overlapping timezone** preferred, for easy collaboration - Fully remote ## To apply Send a short note on your Shopify experience plus links to stores or pages you've built (live URLs or code samples both welcome).
