Shopify Developer - Rest (UAE-based)

100% Remote - UAE, must overlap 4 hrs with GMT+5 Timezone - Independent Contractor This role will own and elevate our Shopify storefront. Turning every line of code into a faster, smoother shopping experience that drives e-commerce growth. The impact you'll own (first 6–12 months) • Storefront Development: Build, maintain, and customize high-performing Shopify Plus storefronts from Figma or wireframe mockups. • Experimentation & A/B Testing: Design, code, and execute A/B or multivariate tests using tools like Intelligems to validate conversion hypotheses. • Performance Optimization: Diagnose site bottlenecks, improve Core Web Vitals, and ensure lightning-fast page loading speeds on both desktop and mobile. • Funnel Analysis: Analyze user behavior and heatmaps (using tools Microsoft Clarity, Google Analytics) to identify friction points and drop-off barriers to drive improvements in the in conversion rate (CVR) • UX/UI Implementation: Ensure all front-end features are intuitive, accessible, and strictly adhere to e-commerce best practices. • Integrate and maintain third-party APIs, email workflows, and backend logic that keep the storefront running securely and without friction. • Identify and eliminate bugs through rigorous testing and QA collaboration, maintaining a consistently high-quality customer experience. What you'll need (must-haves) • Arabic language proficiency is preferred, with strong spoken communication skills. • Hands-on experience with Shopify Plus — you know Liquid templating, theme architecture, and how to build and customize storefronts beyond the basics. • Solid grasp of front-end fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) with the ability to translate designs into clean, responsive, cross-device experiences. • Platform familiarity: Klaviyo, Intelligems, Microsoft Clarity, GA4 • Comfortable working on back-end logic and third-party integrations — APIs, database structures, and keeping a storefront secure and performant. • Familiar with version control and agile workflows — you ship iteratively, collaborate well, and communicate clearly across technical and non-technical teams. • A portfolio or project history in e-commerce or Shopify development that shows real impact — whether through an internship, freelance work, or a side project you built from scratch. Bonus, not dealbreakers • Experience with automated testing or QA processes — you've helped catch bugs before they reach customers. • Exposure to email marketing platform integrations (think Klaviyo or similar) and building responsive, personalized email templates that connect seamlessly with a Shopify storefront.
